can you add your own Section and have it for instance have a drop down box or check box for info
like

Who's Movie this is.

Drop down or check boxes would be

Bobs
Moms
Dads
Jims

And you could select one and it would stay ?

Why not use the tags for this?
"View->Windows->Set Tags" to switch the window on.
And then right-click in tag window and select "Edit tags...". Now you can create new tags (Bobs, Moms,...).
After this you have checkboxes you can check anytime.
Also you can filter your collection with Filters->Tags.

Yes - this is definitely tags - I do something very similar with tags already myself.
