One of my friend who have the older version of dvd profiler sent me his list in .xml format... but i cannot read it!! is there a way to import it in a blankl version of dvd profiler 3 (or better, version 3) or any software or way to read the .xml page?? (or a plugin, or something...)
(or the .xml back is totally a useless function?)

| | Posted: | | | | No, you cannot import *.xml files into profiler. You can view xml-files with your internet browser or with an office application like ms excel. It's only possible to import the *.dpb backup files into the profiler! This is the format your friend should give you. The *xml files are useful for external applications outside profiler. 2) I do not know what you mean with "XML back". If you mean "XML backup", it is not as much "useless" as simply non-existing - there is no XML backup feature in DVD Profiler. If you refer to "XML Export" then it is a hightly useful feature in a number of usecases - but importing the collection again simply isn't one of these usecases. | | | Regards

You need a copy of 2.4/5 installed. You need the UPCs tool that can be found on DVD Dougs website.
This can then use the UPCs in the XML data to reimport the collection to 2.4/5. Then backup in 2.4 and restore the backup in 3.

i only want to see the content.. Mabe It's another format or so? Sorry I'm not an expert in this, but nevertheless, I think this *.xml file won't help you anyway! So if your friend has profiler 2.xxx he should make a complete backup of the data. the filename of this ends with *.dpb. This one can be restored within profiler 3.xx! | | | | Thorsten |
