| Posted: | | | | I have noted at least ONE contribution where a user is adding a substantila number of Common Names to a list, ALL of which are both unnoted AND undocumented. Come on people, Ken and Gerri have said to document your work and the Notes page says For all contributions, indicate the source of the data, especially cast and crew additions. If you aren't going to supply sources for your data then don't make the changes and for voters, simply put why are you voting YES. Or is there some spin and rationalization that allows you to IGNORE Ken and Gerri's request. Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here

I would like to correct some of my profiles that come probably from a third party, than contribute them. And I'm looking for GOOD sources of informations. I saw in your profiles (I think no better information can come than from your profiles) of Star Wars, uncredited actors in the role of Stormtroopers, that you probably obtained by sources that are of course acceptable by Ken and Gerri... or perhaps you recognized them on screen captures ??? I'm very interested, for in MY profile, I suspect they come from IMDb, and I want to correct that as quickly as possible. Thanks very much for charing your sources, so that I can contribute... | | | Images from movies |

There was a time, once upon time when data was commonly used from IMDb, then for whatever reason, Ken changed that, and we came up with the current system. Any data prior to July 2005 will contain data, especially (uncredited) which originated with TWSNBN.com (They Who Shall Not Be Named), Star Wars came out prior to July 2005 or was announced prior to July 2005. Until RECENTLY Ken had told us that "old" data was grandfathered in as OK, but that did not apply to new entries. Recently he changed that again to the current position, I have already publicly stated that I will probably NOT remove any OLD data, but as I go through my list and find such data, I will try whenever possible to make such modifications as might be possible to break the connection to another source.
So nice try at what you were attempting to do. But you are not totally informed of the entire story.

Skip I knew that, of course, I was also here in the good old time... But I was sure that your profiles couln't possibly be wrong, as you always follow rules, and you seem to have time (nearly half of a 19 pages thread for one centime in SRP in three days...). I'm so sad... | | | Images from movies |

Just because he wants everybody to follow the Rules closely doesn't mean his local profiles match the Rules entirely. That can be seen nicely with many of the initial contributions to the Invelos database, which actually contain his preferences rather than the last available profile from the InterVocative database However, I too would have wished he would have answered your question and shared his personal collection of sources for uncredited. | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan. | Posted: | | | | Ok I want to make sure, I understand. Surfeur is asking how, under the current system I would go about dealing with (uncredited) data...yes.
