With DVD Profiler 2.4 my Visioneer One Touch 8920 scanner worked fine.  Now with 3.0 every time I edit a cover image the scan is all distorted.  I've loaded all updated drivers for the scanner; but it just will not work with 3.0.  Does anyone else have this problem and/or have any suggestions on what to do.  Thanks,  Stevedvd

The problem I have found (I think it's a bug) is when I edit a movie, select the front cover and click on the button to scan it, it opens my software, make the scan and import it in DVD Profiler without any problem. But if after I click on the back cover tab to scan it, I click on the button to scan but when it opens my software, the previous scan (front cover) is still display in my software (HP software available with my scanner) and if I make another scan and when it import into DVD Profiler, it's still the front cover scan.

But if I make the front scan, click OK to validate the modifications and after edit again the profile and make the back cover it's work as it must. So I don't know if the problem is from my HP software (but I didn't have this problem with DVD Profiler 2.x) or a bug with DVD Profiler and other people with different softwares are this problem too...
Regards
Cyrille

I have a similar action from my CanoScan LiDE 500 software, but do not have the problem you mention.  I only have to [Ok] the disc covers dialog after scanning both covers.
The Canon software keeps and displays the previous image (say the front) when it reopens, so when the page hasn't changed, I can just move the selection area down to the back cover, optimise colours and finish scan.  If the page has changed, I just need to preview scan first.
The page imported into the disc covers dialog of DVDProfiler is always correct.

Does this also happen when acquiring scans from within other programs, say within a word processor?

What dpi settings are you using?  I normally scan at 100dpi - which I think the rules say is the maximum for uploading - giving approx 500 x 700 pixels for the covers.  However, in looking at the image versions after they've been imported by DVDProfiler, all have been adjusted down to 96dpi, so it might be worth setting the scanner to 96dpi.  Cover images downloaded from the database are also at 96dpi.  For optimum clarity, reduced reflections, etc., I remove the cover from the slip case before scanning.

these are all problems with the scanning software which is completely separate from DVD profiler.
