| Posted: | | | | I thought I would put the individual discs from my box sets and TV series into DVDP but ran into something I don't understand. When I inserted the 1st disc from LOTR: Fellowship, DVDP identified the disc as "Current Disc: FELLOWSHIP_EXT-D1 (323146FB89CC015B)" But then it lists "Title: (unknown)" Why is that? Is this normal? I checked the other discs in this box set and the same thing occurs. Am I doing something wrong and is there some way to fix the software to upload that data automatically. I can add the title manually but that seems illogical to me. When I put the individual discs of Alien Quadrilogy, I had no problems. So, back to the subject - WHY? |

What's driving me crazy though is why this happened with LOTR but not Alien Quadrilogy. Shouldn't this occur with both or neither? It's probably a simple reason, but I just don't see it. I'm afraid I need to know the why of something in order to understand it. I never "set up" Alien Quadrilogy, I just inserted the disc in my computer, DVDP read the disc, I pressed add DVD and ta da. But when I put LOTR in the title is "unknown". So how do I "set up" this disc. I just went in and added it manually and when I looked at it under "owned': no image, no data, nothing. So I went back in and deleted it since it was worthless. |

| Posted: | | | | Kathy, Apparantely, the Alien Quadrilogy discs that you own had Disc IDs that were not unique. Someone has already uploaded those discs to the database making them available to everyone that owns that box set with identical Disc IDs. Whereas, your LOTR has unique Disc IDs that, as of yet, have never been uploaded to the database. It's up to you to contribute them or not . | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

| Posted: | | | | The films of the Alien Quad are contributable since they are within a box set.
As for LOTR, which set are you referring to? The 4-disc Extended Editions are not considered box sets since they contain only one film each. | | | ...James

| Posted: | | | | I had that happen with my Dungeon & Dragons Animated TV Series. I simply updated the downloaded profile Disc ID in my collection to match but I didn't submit it as a new profile. I may now though. |

That's what I get for trying to fill: "Your mission, should you choose to accept it" On to missing TV series and box sets! |

| Posted: | | | | Hi Kathy, the disc profiles won't be there for the LOTR extended editions because it's not classed as a boxset as it only contains one film. So all the information will be on the UPC profile. The Alien Quadrilogy contains 4 films so will have child profiles for the discs! It can get very complicated sometimes... |

All I can say, to repeat one of my father's favorite lines, is "don't confuse me with facts"!! I have always thought of LOTR (and others) as a box set even though I know DVDP does not! That's where my DUH response came in. I have others that I will need to contribute; I just put in the discs for RoboBox and they're missing too. At least this one is an official box set! I may wait until I get my scanner though. |
