Almost every time I add a movie and then the program downloads the movie's profile, when it is almost done I get this error: "Access violation at address 00A8ACB3 in module 'dvdpro.exe' Read of address 61656DE63".

This error also happens sometimes when I edit a profile.

I have a fully uptodate Windows XP SP2 installation with Symantec AV Corp. Edition 10. I am accessing the internet via a fast cable modem.

I never had the problem with version 2 of the software, but this last weekend I upgraded to Version 3 and finally added the 350 or so movies I have added to my collection since I first used DVD Profiler (!). (Something to do on a rainy weekend? !). I have a UPC scanner (USB) and that sure made things easy.

I've run the repair utilities (several times) but that doesn't solve the problem.

Update: It appears that this error happens when something is re-indexed after an add or delete process.

This is a known problem.

If you are displaying the column for the location slot on the LHS of the program then de-select this.

Thanks! Can I display the slot column elsewhere and avoid the problem?

Also, when adding or moving my discs around in my DVD changers, I sure would like a way to easily edit the slot data (like in a large table) than via CTRL-P, click, type, enter!!

Try CSV Export Utility and Excel. Much easier for bulk editing.

just a shame that this would mean you couldn't put them back into DVd Profiler..
