| Posted: | | | | I'm suspended from contributing, every new contribution meets the following message:
This profile cannot be contributed due to the following errors: Your account is currently suspended from contributing due to violations of the contribution rules. See your contributions for details. Please follow the contribution rules with all contributions. Additionally, when submitting contributions, ensure the sources listed in your contribution notes are stated accurately. If applicable, please check these items and make any necessary corrections, then try the contribution again.
Why exactly am I being suspended from contributing and for how long??????????/ |

| Posted: | | | | Apparently you were either constantly not following the rules or constantly not sourcing your contributions. To find out what the problem is go to the links at the top of this page... click My Profiler... Click Contributions button on the left... and see what reasons there was for the declines.
As for how long... unless it says on the page I told you to go to... only Ken or Gerri can say. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Hmmm, that's a new one. As a general point, I am glad this is happening - although no reflection on your contributions as I have not seen them. Does seem kinda weird to tell you to "contribute to the rules", "make the necessary corrections" and "try the contributions again" when you are suspended from contributing. If you look on the contributions pages within "My Profiler" there are explanations of declined contributions - not all, but most. There is a thread in this forum also explaining the feature. | | | Andy

It is good to see that Ken and Gerri is standing behind what they said. I may not agree with all the rules.. and I may not even understand all the rules... but I see no excuse for not following the rules. If there is something I don't want to follow... I don't update that section... pretty simple in my opinion. | | | Pete |

Pete, I think this statement would make an excellent end to every thread resulting in an argument around the forums. Very well said. | | | Brian |

Why exactly am I being suspended from contributing and for how long??????????/ I would suspect that you have been suspended because you either: 1. Repeatedly contributed profiles without quoting any source for the data contributed (especially cast and crew); or 2. Repeatedly contributed data from third-party databases such as IMDB. You should take a moment to read through the rules and FAQs posted in this thread and perhaps take a break from contributing until you are a little more familiar with the process. I would suggest that you PM Ken or Gerri to find out how long the suspension is. |

| Posted: | | | | Well maybe Skip should follow the rules also. Adding Disc and side dividers to cast listing
Example what is being submitted:
Disc 1 Side A Episode 1 so and so as so and so
this doesn't follow the rules. It is a personal Preference |

It seems to me that the error message he got expalins it rather thoroughly. The only possibile question would be did he know to look at the votes of users, which might be useful as a guidance tool to correct his mistakes. I am not in a very sympathetic mood at the moment. Right now we have a new user who has made several Contributions which violate the rules, he PM'd me, I tried to explain it to him and his response is to argue with me...so sympathetic I am not.

What a constructive and helpful comment to a newcommer who's clearly trying to understand why his contributions are rejected according to his signature he has been with the program for 4 years .. We don't know exactly what he did to warrant this,, but best to not second guess our powers to be.. | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. | Posted: | | | | ejh, take a look at the contribution decline reasons listed in the My Profiler section as addicted2dvd suggested. If you have questions after that, feel free to pm me. The suspensions are intended to call attention to the feedback we provide for declines, so users can understand the reasons and not just get frustrated with declines. As to the length, the first suspension is 24 hours. Second is 48 hours, third is a week and fourth is permanent. The suspension lengths reset after 30 days. We've found so far overall a very positive reaction to the system once the reasons are understood. Mostly. | | | Invelos Software, Inc. Representative |
