| Posted: | | | | Sorry guys I contributed before reading the rules... for the movie Doom I thought Id give props to Barbara Nedeljakova for her participation in only two films in my database Doom and Hostel however after reading the rules closer relized that your not allowed to enter uncredited cast. So Im sorry and hopefully my contribution will be deleted soon.
However Im wondering exactly what the reason for this is? Also is there a way to lock only that cast member in my local database, If there are other contributions Id like not to miss them but if I lock it it will not update correct? | | | Last edited: by Mike |

| Posted: | | | | You can enter uncredited cast, you just need to cite proof. Most people are calling for either a screen cap or the time where that person is. If the submission hasn't already been accepted, you can remove it yourself by using the "withdraw" button which, I believe is in the contributions section.
I'm not sure exactly what is the full reason is, but at least in part, it's because people were being incorrectly added to the database as uncredited that were not correct. And you can lock the cast/crew in your local database, but you can't, as far as I'm aware, just lock one particular person. It has to be the full cast. The rest of the profile should update, though.
Hope this helps.

| Posted: | | | | Mike: You CAN enter (unedited) Cast, its Crew you can't enter as (uncredited). However you must document said (uncredited) Cast member, I would include a Time Stamp for reference and at least one other source of documentation (the more the merrier ) If you didn't document it, then just do so and let 'er rip. | Posted: | | | | Actually, you can submit uncredited actors to the online db as long as you provide your method of identifying that person in the contribution notes. One method suggested is to state something like this: "Added Barbara Nedejakova as ROLE (uncredited) because I recognized her in the train station scene at time 14:34" This will allow anyone to insert the disc and run it up to the time and see if they recognize her also for verification. Of course, your mileage may vary.
It has been requested to add a separate area for uncredited so they can be locked apart from the cast, but so far it is not possible. Your only solution for now is to lock the cast and when an update comes through make the determination if it's easier to accept the cast and re-add an uncredited actor you wish to keep or edit your cast list to match the update, or just keep what you have.
Hope that helps. | | | Kevin |

| Posted: | | | | You couldn't be more wrong. We welcome the addition of uncredited cast as long as it conforms to the rules. Reread the rules regarding cast. I voted no because in your notes you quoted the source to be the DVD but how can that be for an uncredited cast member? If you learned of it in a special feature on the DVD then you need to say so. If you recognised the actor, you need to provide a time stamp of exactly where in the film that actor appears...or better yet, a screenshot. We just need some documention to support adding uncredited cast to the cast list. Hope this helps and welcome to the madhouse . | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

| Posted: | | | | Correct. Seeing those 4 little letters in contribution notes will almost certainly guarantee a decline, and most certainly guarantee a no vote from most of the active members of the community. | | | Kevin |
