| Posted: | | | | Ah, that is the German Special Edition packaging of "Event Horizon" (released last year if I remember correctly). I guess Best Buy licensed the packaging for RC1. | | | Michael |

| Posted: | | | | The Event Horizon Box is or was not exclusive to Germany (thank God).
I obtained a copy of the Belgian Version for a mere 7.99 € at mediadis.com. Although it lacks the German language track, I was more interested in the packaging, and the English language version suffices. Shelling out almost 25.00 € just for German audio didn't really appeal to me. | | | Lutz |

| Posted: | | | | I still don't get why all movies are being dubbed in Germany/Austria, because 'nuff people speak English, and otherwise there are subtitles but this topic was more to show what (very) special editions are available, just like on the old forum | | | Jean-Paul |

Though quite a few special boxes/releases do seem to be; I must admit I have occasionally wondered why Germany seems to get so mnay compared to some other locales | | | It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong |

You'll find "O-Ton vs. Synchro wars" (original audio track vs dubbing) on nearly every germany DVD board. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

The average Joe Sixpack wouldn't even understand why anyone would watch an original version. People in Germany simply grow up with the dubbed films, and most of them never get to hear the original voices of famous actors in their lifetimes. I'm sure some don't even get they are not hearing, for example, Bruce Willis but his German voice Manfred Lehmann (an actor from Berlin). | | | Michael |

It only becomes obvious when the dubbing voice is/becomes unavailable and an actor gets a new voice (as happened in Die Hard 3). And what's more: We got lucky that Arnold and Sly never played in the same movie, because in Germany they are spoken by the same person. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

| Posted: | | | | Very funny, my girlfriend is Austrian. She also still lives there which makes it difficult for us sometimes because of the distance. We were watching a couple of movies on Pro7 (a channel I'd love to have back here) and she told me that she had never heared the original voice of whats-his-name, Eddy Murphy, and Tom Hanks. Funny was that I had `Haunted Mansion` and `Catch Me If You Can` with me so we watched those. | | | Jean-Paul |
