This wa origially posted in the beta release testing thread. Hoping for an official answer.

There seems to be a problem with the way DVDPM handles actor cross-linking when an actor has multiple roles in a film or with TV Episodes that have the new episode dividers in the cast section.  For every instance that a particular actors name appears in the cast list, DVDPM treats it as a seperate title when you click on that actors name to see what other films he/she has appeared in.

For example, I clicked on Robert Patrick in the cast list of Bridge to Terabithia.  The screen for the films he's appeared in opens and everything is peachy util I reach Seasons 8 & 9 of the X-Files and whooa!  X-Files Season 8 is now listed 21 times and Season 9 19 times...once for each time Robert Patrick's name appears in the cast lists for those titles.

It's not isolated to just the use of TV Series episode dividers.  Click on Eddie Murphy and Norbit is listed 3 times because Eddie Murphy played 3 roles in Norbit and is listed 3 times in the cast list.

My question is, is this a feature or bug? .

Edited: It's actually worse that I thought...I own both the Collector's Edition and the Slim Packs of Seasons 8 & 9 of the X-Files...so, Season 8 is listed 42 times and Season 9 38 times .

I also have noticed this.  I think it might be a feature because I have noticed the same behavor in the desktop DVDP.  this is another reason for not using episode dividers for TV series.  I "cleaned" up the first season of 24 and removed all the "duplicate" actor and actors so they only listed once and the space just from that one box set that I saved on my PDA was noticable.

I didn't notice this behaviour in the desktop version of Profiler.  When I click on Robert Patrick in the cast list of Bridge to Terabithia in the desktop version, The X-Files Seasons 8 & 9 are only listed twice, as they should be. Not so in DVD Profiler Mobile.

I have found the same problem with the way DVDPM handles actor cross-linking if the actor is listed multiple times due to use of the new episode dividers in the cast section for TV series.  Every time the actor's name appears in the cast list, DVDPM treats it as a separate title when you check to see what other films he has appeared in.  An example is Richard Dean Anderson in Stargate SG-1, the same disc is listed multiple times.  I didn't find the same problem with the desktop version.

I double checked again, and my bad.  The desktop app does NOT have this issue.  Sorry guys, I think I need some glasses.

It takes some time and some work but re-arrange your episodes and remove the dividers, then lock you cast in that profile.  I know it is a pain but it will work for now.

It took me several hours just to do 24 season 1 and I have got several more to go.

When you do it at the desktop level it also speeds up your back up time and sync time with the PDA.

I get similar, but inconsistent, behavior in cross-linking on the crew section.  For example, when selecting Sergio Leone in Duck You Sucker, I see three identical entries for him as Director, Original Material By, and Screenwriter. However, there is only one entry for him in For a Few Dollars More  (Director, Original Material By, and Screenwriter), The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (Director, Original Material By, and Screenwriter), Once Upon a Time in America (Director, Screenwriter), and Once Upon a Time in the West (Director, Original Material By, and Screenwriter).

I see similar behavior for Peter Yates in Breaking Away.  What is interesting is that the multiple entries seem to occur with those titles where I edited the crew list, but not from those that others created and I simply downloaded. I edited and contributed the crew lists for both Duck You Sucker and Breaking Away using the latest version of DVDP.

I am using the latest versions of Profiler and Mobile.
