Assuming you have done the above, it is very similar to adding a link.
Open the picture in your web browser Right click it and select properties Copy the address (URL) Click the insert image button (right next to the insert link button) Paste the image url | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. Hotlinking = linking to images on your website without the permission and/or knowledge of the host provider of the image. You use their bandwidth at their expense.
Most times, you can get away with it. Other times, you'll get an image showing up in its stead immediately or later asking you not to hotlink images. Sometimes, you'll get rather rude images instead of the one you hoped to display. | | | Last edited: by Dr. Killpatient |

(if I figure out Unicus69's instructions! ) I don't want to have a rude image pop up - as far as I know this site allows their pictures to be shared. Do you know if that's right? | | | Last edited: by Kathy |

Free sites www.flickr.com www.photobucket.com www.openshoebox.com www.snapfish.com www.shutterfly.com www.hpphoto.com
Recommended Pay Sites www.fotki.com www.mac.com (must use apple) www.magnethost.com
Note about the Free sites, if an image gets too much usage, it'll get removed. Flickr is notable about this one. But I doubt things will get too much use here. | | | Last edited: by Dr. Killpatient |

| Posted: | | | | Here's a picture I used to use for people who hotlink my images. This is like a church picnic compared to some of the anti-hot linking images out there. (No, no anti-hotlinking in effect for my images. yet.) |

| Posted: | | | | I can Has Cheezburger is specific about their wanting people to use their artwork: no hotlinking. They encourage people to copy the image to another website and link to that. I keep a few pages (that I pay for) with various Creative Commons licensing attitudes where I rehost various lolcat images (including ICHC). I link to my site, not the original host. You hotlink from my site, and this is one of many images you might get instead: | | | If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

Once at the old IVS Forum I used one directed at a specific person (who became banned, but for other reasons): | | | If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.
