| Posted: | | | | Hello sports fans:
Ever since I shelled out the bucks for this program, I've been wanting to make a "cheat sheet" report that you can use while watching the DVD. I've been looking for something that will list, say, running time, features, cast and crew. I was fighting with the reports feature, but I couldn't get it to do what I wanted. (I got a post somewhere on here asking questions.) I finally gave up and started to look at the XML file.
I exported an XML file for each movie and dug into XSL a little bit. I came up with a crude report that does what I want using a combo of the XML movie file, XSL, and CSS.
The report lists the following info: Title, Running Time, Audio Format, Subtitles, Video Format, Features, Cast (uncredited are marked with an asterik) and Crew.
It pretty much gives me a nice little checklist to use while I'm watching a movie. I don't know if anyone is interested ... there are a few instructions that go along with it, but I'd be happy to send what I have to anyone that is interested. Note: I am by no means a programmer ... merely a dabbler.

Well, I'm not a checklister(yet?) so I'm not sure if I'll use, but I'm sure going to have a look at it for fresh ideas. Also if you want I can add it to my XSL-archive, see signature.

cya, Mithi Mithi - I want to learn more about this but, when I went looked at "Milthi's little XSLT tinkering", the first thing I read was "For absolute beginners of HTML and programming this page might be unsuitable". So where should an "absolute beginner" start? I want to be able to say "Me! Me! Me!" too. |

Why not publish it on a web site? If you don't have one yet, Yahoo Geocities offers a free possibility for something like this. | | | Last edited: by RHo |

I know ... I could do that ... let's see how some people like it first. Rink | | | Kittens give Morbo gas. |

| Posted: | | | | The easiest way to create the list you're looking for is to download the CSV plugin. It does what you need with zero programming. I was looking at the xml file and paused a bit to look at the plugin page and am glad i did. the CSV exporter works perfectly to get the info to an excel spreadsheet. |
