I was a previous user of the 2.4 version of DVD Profiler a free basic version. I decided to support the new program after I could basically no longer use my old version . I in the past have made contributions for what were probably rare and odd DVD' available here in Australia. It now appears after paying good money that I am having to spend considerable time to enter just about all the discs I am now buying because the database is so limited. Am I wrong here or am I missing something . Have I just bought an empty database that I have to fill myself or expect others to do . Why does not Invelos at least start entering all new releases

I can sympathise. It is a tough gig in Region 4. We have a small crew of contributors. Here is a tip, if you are after new release film profiles you can probably get one from Region 1 change the UPC, update the cover images, check the DVD details and upload that. Doesn't take long and it is better than starting from scratch. Most DVDs are released in Region 1 before Region 4 and are added to the DB very quickly after release.

Invelos won't be entering any profiles. The DB is built by user contributions.

Welcome and happy profiling.

Weren't the majority of region 4 discs brought over during the merger of databases?
Or are we talking about new releases?

They came over like all the rest. It is new releases and those not already contributed that he is talking about. We have a much smaller user base than the other regions.

If you still have 2.4 installed, you can do a backup from that, restore it in 3.x and recontribute the missing titles to the database.

No its basically the new releases . I am into buying Blu-ray at the moment and I have basically had to do what a previos said to do and use a US UPC . . I am Ok with this Now and will still contribute should I get a disk with a local flavour like "fun with funnelwebs"
