I would like the fields "Original title" and "Country of Origin" to be visible under "General info".

It's already there. Go to Options, Display and select the apropriate Title Format (e.g. "Title (Original Title)").
CoO is displayed next to the production year in general tab (e.g. Produced: 2006 in United States)

i would like to have the original title in a standalone field. many titles are already long enough.

But they are both missing in the online collection which would be very nice if they could be there...

Or even better: A much nicer "Display Style" would be nice.

@Ken: What about a "design contest" for the online collection?
