Could the HeadShots import tool, or similar be used on Invelos community data base, so that, when adding a new movie to a user collection, the heads are present upon download?

Due to copyright concerns, many of the photos ARE copyrighted, I doubt this would ever be implemented. Though it might be nice, headshots will probably have to local only.

How are you? I thought they might be able to use that long list that's available at Doug's site. Or something similar. Also dbl. clicking, an empty head, takes you to Google, where it appears the headshots are in the public domain. The data base might need to be shut down, to do that sort of addition. Anyway it's just a thought. Have a nice day!

Google, MSN, Yahoo, whatever is no guarantee of public domain, and in fact the vast majority of photographed material of celebs is going to copyrighted by either Photographer or the people he works for. Sometimes you will be able to see it because the picture may be marked with a copyright, or perhaps text material which accompanies the photo. This why I do not use the photo tool, as nice as it is, those who use it cross over into the realm of sharing copyrighted material, which in the US may or may not be viewed as a legal violation. | | Posted: | | | | I'd say that it is total BS that we can elude the copyright issue by not scanning the spines and storing only back and front covers in the online db. There are still photographs in covers which are copyrighted material. So, what would be the difference in storing headshots and covers online? None!
However, I'm happy with the current system. Although I'm like Skip and like to scan all my covers myself with higher resolution than available online. |
