The Lexx "series" season 1 is just been upgraded to a movie from TV series and the parent profile has been ripped of all info as per rules for box sets.

I want others opinion on this mather, as I disagree in this.

The statemant is that it says on the front cover "Lexx the movies", I have understood this to be a title only for the eropean market...  (from god forbid the IMDb)

That this is a tv series is also supported by some online encyclopedia I have search for answers:

Wikipedia
TheFreDictionary

Theese ofcourse take the hole series under one consideration so it is not a answer for the season one to be considered movies or not.

So is there anybody out there suporting either side?  speak out please.

I agree with you (so far I Voted Neutral whilst awaiting other comments to see if I was alone)

To me even if they are 'long' episodes they are more like the pilots for a TV series. Similarly if a mini series was split over three 2 hour long movie-length episodes, we wouldn't regard them each as a separate movie

As such I think they should follow the TV series Rules of "data should remain in the series/top level profile, as well as in the child profiles if you use them".

I guess this is another of those grey areas.

Personaly, I see Season 1 of Lexx as 4 movies, but I have them as 4 separate keep cases.

I went to Wikipedia, and they call talk of movies when talking about Season 1.
Quote:

In the fictional television series "Lexx," there are two universes: the Light Universe and the Dark Zone. Two of the Season 1 movies and the whole of Seasons 3 and 4 take place in the Dark Zone, while two of the Season 1 movies and nearly all of Season 2 takes place in the Light Universe.

That's in the "The Light Universe and Dark Zone" section.

So yeah, I think it should be handled as a boxset. But since it's a grey area, I completely understand treating it as a TV series too.

I agree that this is in the grey...

Thereby I think it is best to keep it TV series, so then the users could choose to have children profiles or not... now we are forced to download the childeren to be updated with the profile in whole.
(I have already frozen my profile, so it is not lost for me, but if not on the edge...)

From Wikipedia, suporting both sides...  the light and the dark universe...

There are four seasons of Lexx totalling 61 episodes. The first season, debuting in Canada on 18 April 1997, consisted of four two-hour TV movies (sometimes screened as eight one-hour episodes)

You know, in all honnesty, I think both movie boxsets and TV series should be handled with the parent containing the data common to each child, with the child profiles detailing everything. That way, both sides are happy, and those who use exclusively the child profile can easily delete what they consider extraneous data from the parent.

I think all boxset should be handled like we do now for TV series.

I totally know this is threading in dangerous territory. I'm actually surprised none of the two warring parties have yet to post in here with a rebuttal.

Still, it's my opinion, and I firmly believe it is the best compromise. Although, unfortunately, some people are not ready to compromise. They'll hold their ground no matter what.

I have to admit I also found it odd that the parent profile for film boxsets wasn't used to summarise the contents as it is for TV boxsets. Especially now you can copy & paste cast & crew (via notepad!)

Back on topic though, I always thought of Lexx as a series of TV movies - that makes it a TV series in my eyes.

They're definitely movies, a set of pilots if you will. Not episodes in the strictest sense, but I don't see a reason not to treat them the same as other TV sets, with data at both levels.
