| | Posted: | | | | I'm currently reviewing my database and one of the things I'm setting straight is adding the child profiles to box sets. Where possible, I just add the children by inserting the disks and let DVD Profiler figure out whether there are already profiles for these (most often, there are).
However, there are a few cases where the box set is still shrink-wrapped, and I normally don't open those until actually watching them.
Now, I know from other threads that the boxset contents are also part of the (online) profiles. I also know there are some issues with this that e.g. it is not possible to automatically download the child profiles with the box set profile.
Also, it is recommended to first add the child profiles, and then add the boxset at which time the child profiles are automatically moved as children of the box set. Now, since I already have those boxset profiles, this is not feasible for me (unless I would remove the box set and add it again, but then I lose the personal information).
So, question: is it somehow possible to add the correct children to a box set, when the boxset profile is already in my database but the children are not.
Example. I wanted to do this for the Fast And The Furious trilogy boxset which is still shrinkwrapped. My database already had the box set profile. So what I tried to do, was add from online all possible Fast and the Furious titles available in the same locality. But now I would like to have a way to update the Box Set profile such that automatically the 3 correct single profiles are added as child to the box set.
Is this at all possible ? Or is the only way to do it to first remove the box set, and then add it again ?

Even though it is in your database (and you can see the EAN/UPC through the shrinkwrap so I assume you have the right one if there's more than one) just go: Add DVD -> Select the Trilogy -> Preview On the preview screen check the box in the bottom right hand corner (Boxset contents) and make a note of either the EAN/UPCs (if they have separate ones in separate cases) or Disc-IDs (if it's a digipak or the separate cases have had the UPCs/EANs removed as is common in the UK) Cancel the preview then you can 'add by Title' and look fown the list for each title until you find the correct EAN/UPC/Disc ID, add each to your collection then add them to the Trilogy Boxset. | | | | It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong |

It still surprises me as the online profiles of box sets do contain the references to the child profiles. But I guess I already had this discussion with you on whether this must be a bug or not  . |
