| Posted: | | | | I am a new user and I'm enjoying DVD Profiler a lot. It gets more fun when some DVD's have actually been entered in the app, so I can actually do some filtering and searching Two of Profiler's features I now use most and like best are the Filter and the basic yet fast 'search dvd' functionality using the textbox. I find I am mostly using the 'Substring Search' type of search to find my DVD's. So, when I type "ring", Profiler will filter out my "Lord of the Rings" DVD's. However, when I exit Profiler, this "Substring Search" setting is not saved in the program's configuration, thus lost. And seeing as the 'Substring Search' setting is actually part of the Filter feature, any defined filter isn't saved when exiting the application (and also not made active again when starting the application). Perhaps I am overlooking an option to save the 'Substring Search' option and currrently entered filter when exiting DVD Profiler, so it will be active again when I restart the application? I have looked in the settings and searched the forum, but to no avail so far. If this is not possible, perhaps this would be a useful new feature for an upcoming version? I for one would love to use it. | | | Cirrus, Socrates, particle, decibel, hurricane, dolphin, tulip. | | | Last edited: by Busara |

| Posted: | | | | not sure what you are wanting to do.
You are aware that you save the dvd profiles in the desktop program so the substring would only be useful the once. (i.e. to find and download them)? | | | Paul |

| Posted: | | | | I think they're talking about the substring search tick box in the Filters window, to search their already downloaded collection. I think what they want is for the Filters window to remember the last used filter when the program is closed, instead of clearing all filters as it does at the moment. eg. if Busara did a search for substring "ring" in the title, then 3 titles are shown out of 100 in total. If the program is then closed, the next time it is opened, it shows all 100 again. Busara would prefer it to show only the 3 that were showing when the program was closed. |

| Posted: | | | | You are correct northbloke, this is precisely what I meant to say. It would be nice if the entered Filter was remembered when the program is closed.
More importantly than the Filter though (a wish, for me) is that substring search tickbox. I wish it was possible for DVD Profiler to remember the state of that tickbox, when closing and re-starting the application. Right now, I have to tick that substring search tickbox every time I start DVD Profiler, in order to search the way I love best.
Thanks for your comments guys. | | | Cirrus, Socrates, particle, decibel, hurricane, dolphin, tulip. |
