| Posted: | | | | Hi there, I recently updated from 2.4 to 3.0, installed 3.0, saved the collection in 2.4, and imported it in 3.0 Now there is the retailer's names totally different from what I originally typed in, e.g. I bought a DVD from Amazon, and in 3.0 the program shows me "purchased from Best Buy". This is for all imported DVD's. Is there a workaround or do I have to change the retailers name manually for each DVD (+450)?
Thanks for your help. |

| Posted: | | | | I suggest that you try the following:
- Go back to 2.4 and perform a backup; - Perform a database repair on 2.4; - Backup 2.4 to a seperate backup file; then - Try restoring that into the latest version of 3 (3.02 build 1124).
Let us know how that goes. | | | Last edited: by Telecine |

| Posted: | | | | Hi Telecine, I followed your instructions, but it did not help. There are still the wrong retailers named. Maybe it has something to do with the list of retailers, changing from 2.4 to 3.02, maybe only the position of the retailer on this list is used, regardless of the name? Any other ideas/suggestions? In the meantime, I'll try V_3.03... |

| Posted: | | | | It should not mess up (it hasn't for most people) so it is not because of the changes in the list
As I had a similar corruption, just within 3.0 one day (!) may I suggest doing exactly what Telecine said again BUT when restoring the repaired 2.4 backup restore it into a new datbase NOT over the top of the old one.
When mine got corrupt I went back to a pre-corrupt backup that I knew was right but it still re-corrupted on import. I think the corruption occurs (somehow) in the Retailers list which isn't overwritten when you to a Restore so it remains.
To create a new, blank database do:
File -> Open Database -> New Database (don't copy the current database as this may copy the corruption) -> Name it and put it where you want.
To use it I think you then have to do something like
File -> Open Database -> Double click on the new database you've jjust created.
Now when you restore you'll hopefully be restoring to a non-corrupt Retailer list and it will work! | | | It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong |

| Posted: | | | | This should have worked, but it didn't for me. Strange but true. But I found a workaround: I installed 2.4 on my laptop, imported a slightly older backup, repaired it, and stored it as another backup. Then I installed newest version 3.0.3, imported the backup, changed some data to reflect newest changes in my collection, stored it as a third backup. Then, to be 100% sure, I uninstalled both versions from my computer (on which the problems occured), and reinstalled only version 3.0.3. Then I imported the newest backup created on the laptop, and that's it. Now all retailers names correctly shown in my profile. |
