I just updated: Release Date of the DVD and the CAST (4 Musicans from the Band, which where already all in the CAST Database!) So i don`t understand why one vote for No refuse this.
Other Contributions from the Same Day with Entered Release Date passed through with or without vots..

I not the Rule, that this will not be discussed normally, but when adding the missed release Date and the Main CAST Members, that should not qualify to say: NO. IMHO. Michael |

It was from a child profile (Misery) of the Chiller Collection box. The only thing I did was copy the release date and case type from the box profile. The irony is that I also did the same thing for another child profile (Carrie) from the same box, and that one was accepted ?! Beats me why it was declined. Then again, apparently there is a manual process behind the declines and accepts, and obviously the humans behind it (Ken, Gary,..?) are only human and can't be blamed for a small mistake here or there... I'll just resubmit the Misery profile and see what happens. |

Michael, you said you had one "No" vote. So when you look under "MyProfiler" > "Contributions" you will see an entry "Yes: 0 No: 1" for your contribution, right ? If you click on that entry (which is a link), all user comments will be shown. Since it is not possible to vote "No" for a contribution without writing a comment, it has to be there. | | | Michael |

But this is stupid. This is a Music Concert DVD; and the CAST is the Name of the Musicans. Ok seems to be my fault. for other DVDs there is used: Glen Frey himself (for me the Same as Role: Glen Frey) or Glen Frey : Vocals, Guitar.. and So, the FAQ should Maybe the Next Version have an Button, that prevents this. when checking: Music Concert DVD. regards michael |

| Posted: | | | | That was a bit of a naughty "no" vote as technically there is nothing wrong with putting Glen Frey --> himself.
Or did you put Glen Frey --> Glen Frey? Because I think that is wrong.
There has been a recent discussion on music DVDs and it did seem to be the concensus of the majority that they would prefer to put Glen Frey --> Vocals, Guitar So if you're going to resubmit, I think most people would prefer to see the instruments played listed in "role" and I think the rules may soon be updated to reflect that. |

| Posted: | | | | Although I'm not sure there was a majority declared, putting the instruments played in the role field will get my "Yes" Vote anytime. What good does it do to enter the name of a musician appearing in a concert and adding "as Himself"? It's fairly obvious that musicians of a band don't play roles on stage (an exception might be GWAR or some other bands where the members use aliases as names...) but intsruments.
IMO, the credits list should have some information value as well as just a collection of letters copied from the screen if possible. | | | Lutz |

I fully agree adding instruments/vocals etc is better but if you are adding a name rather than leaving the cast list blank, even just adding as 'Himself' is an improvement and i'd vote Yes. If you changed from vocals/guitar to 'Himself' i'd vote No as it is removing useful and correct information and adding useless (though correct) information. | | | It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong |

To use your example; Glen Frey --> Glen Frey was used in the new profile, hence my "no" vote. I think in music DVDs the "role" should either be Himself/Herself or the instruments played. So when the profile was re-entered with Himself for each musician, I voted "yes" (although I would have entered the instruments played if I had done the profile myself, I think it is the better option). |

Say I have 4 different DVDs of some band/musician. I will use Phil Collins (as that is the only one I can think of right now ), if they are the Lead Vocals, Drummer, etc. that will be the same on all 4 dvds, just as 'Himself' would be. I guess my point is that if it is a music DVD, the musician is going to be credited with the same thing every time -- if I know who that musician is, the two values would be the same value ... ok, not really, but hopefully you see my point. |
