R1 Discs listed as R1,2,3,4 in Database, Why? |

Most of them are TV shows. I recently uploaded a profile that had changed the Region info, and several NO voters asked why I removed the extra regions. Is there a reason why these R1 discs are being entered into the database with anywhere from 1-4 regions selected? | | | | Chris |

It is because that even though the cover says they are R1, the DVD is in fact multi-region. Users load them on a PC and use products such as PowerDVD to determine the actual region coding of the disk. |

Because the rules say "List the Region(s) shown on the cover, unless you can verify there is a discrepancy between that and the region coding on the disc." Region codes are easy to verify - you simply have to use tools like DVDInfoPro or IfoEdit. Removing these valuable infos from a profile is unacceptable, unless you can prove a multi region entry to be wrong. International users are very interested if they can play a R1 disc on their players, too. | | | | Michael |

There are MANY errors involved when using covers for data. Sometimes they don't even know what kind of audio is on the actual disc, or features will be listed that aren't really there. Tat is why WE use the disc for ALL data.
