| Posted: | | | | In the old DVD Profiler I would simply change the name and add ": HD" to the end of the name for an HD file, and then modify the UPC by adding an additional "9" to the end. This was enough.
However, in the new program this is a problem as a scan for updates replaces the item with a DVD reference.
Is it possible to have an additional "Media Type" of File/Folder and allow (instead of a UPC) a Path to the File/Folder? This would be ideal, also for exporting to other apps such as "My Movies" for Media Center.
If not, how do you recommend I do this in the new version? |

| Posted: | | | | in v 3.0 in edit profile, under the general information tab, at the top there are check boxes for dvd, hd-dvd, and blu-ray... this is how media type (hd or regular dvd) is distinguished... this version of the program should use the full unmodified UPC code. | | | -JoN |

| Posted: | | | | The software is only intended to track physical discs, not movie files on your harddisk, therefore it cannot really do what you want to do.
However, if you really want to, mark it as a DVD and put your identifier (HD = harddisk?) in die Dist. Trait field with your file's pathname in the notes field.
In order to get around the UPC or Disc Requirement, when you add the file, add by name and unclick the "Download profile from Invelos" checkbox. This will add a "Manual DVD EAN #" to the database, but you can only edit that with a real EAN so it cannot be changed. | | | --- ¡Hola! | | | Last edited: by Johan1FS |

| Posted: | | | | And you cannot Contribute these movies, which I hope you were not doing before, if you were I have no doubtr that they will be removed from the database when it is merged with the old one. As noted this IS DVDProfiler, not VHSProfiler, HDDProfiler or FilmProfiler.

Indeed ... although I think the contribution would be declined anyway (at least in v3?) without either a (valid) EAN or Disc-ID? | | | --- ¡Hola! |
