My biggest annoyance with this program by far is how it gives itself focus after it finishes loading.  I hate, hate, hate it when programs pop themselves in front of the window I'm currently working with.  It's extremely rude.  I'd love for DVD Profiler to stop doing this.  If I double click the icon to open the program, I don't need reminded 10 seconds later that I wanted the program open.

It hogs focus while it's loading too - the splash screen remains on top, even if clicking elsewhere.

I find that a little annoying as I often fire up DVDProfiler to do something specific such as record my rating for a DVD after viewing, and while DVDP is loading I like to go and do something else quickly like browse to that DVD's entry in IMDb so I can rate it on IMDb as well.

I realise there is a command line setting so that it loads without the splash screen but I like the splash screen. Just don't want to be forced to see it if I click away

Ken, is there a command line switch that can be added to the Target line in Properties on the desktop icons to "start minimized" as the "nosplash" switch does now?

No, currently there isn't a switch for that.  The best you can do currently is add the nosplash and then set the icon to run minimized.  It will briefly show then minimize.
