| Posted: | | | | I just got a profile change for Rocky II. I know I refreshed the profile at IVS BEFORE I transfered it to 3.0. The release date from the old db was 4/24/2001. The one in the new profile is 9/30/1997. That is a HUGE difference.

| Posted: | | | | I don't own the title but according to DVD Empire, the original DVD release was 9/30/1997 in a snapper. 4/24/2001 was the release date of the 5-Disc Box set. | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

| Posted: | | | | I also basically just use DVD Empire and the kazart link that Squirrel.God posted.
CD Universe and Amazon are generally pretty accurate with the release dates too, if they carry the DVD's that is. | | | Corey |

| Posted: | | | | Actually two sites that have served me well over the years:
Davisdvd.com, go to resources, then release calendar, it splits it up by the week.
Less formal, Dvdfile.com, which has new release news. The bonus here is that every week there is a "Weekly Roundup" thread under the Bargain forums where they list the hot new DVDs every Tuesday and prices at Amazon, Best Buy, Circuit City, Target, and Costco. This comes in super handy for price matching that I do at BB every week. Hey a buck here and there adds up when you buy something every Tuesday.
Davisdvd is nice as it splits it up into the Tuesday of each week, and each listing for the most part (unless the release is way out), is also a link to Amazon. |

That would explain it then. Someone entered the box set release date into the individual profiles. Thanks. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | I can find plenty of sites offering new dvd release dates and also Region 1 releases, but no archive of Region 2 release dates. Does such a site exist, does anyone know? The Invelos database Edit tool seems to require a specific date, unless anyone knows how to enter year of release only. |

Does anybody know where I can go and check? Nowhere.... as anything else than the DVD itself is a third party database which cannot be used for contributing. Cheers, NEWT0N |

Cheers, NEWT0N Not quite true Newton, we are allowed to reference 3rd party databases as long as the info isn't available anywhere else and you can quote a few databases that all agree that the info you're using is correct. |

Cheers, NEWT0N How would I get a release date from a dvd without consulting another source? You can't get a release date from a case or the dvd itself, obviously you need to use another source and a third party database would be acceptable in this case. | | | Last edited: by Bodi |
