| Posted: | | | | Quoting: The Rules - Box Sets Quote: In addition to the above, the following are not included on the box set profile: Subtitles, Audio & Disc Features. List them with the individual profiles. There is currently no mention of excluding the video aspect from parent profiles. IIRC this was because a previous version of the software would not accept a contribution without it. The current version does allow this so I think we should now be excluding the aspect info from parent profiles. Thoughts? | | | Stuart |

| Posted: | | | | I'm comfortable with this approach and it is how I always kept my local (non contibuted) parents, for example

| Posted: | | | | My personal feeling is that I don't like it included when the aspect ratios vary throughout the boxset contents, but when all aspect ratios are the same I am indifferent as to whether it's included or not.
So I'm not sure how to vote! |

| Posted: | | | | I agree with Squirrel.God, if the aspect is all the same (like a TV series), include it in the parent profile. Otherwise leave it blank |

| Posted: | | | | I don't see why video aspect should be included when subs/audio/disc ID are all removed. What's the difference? |

Except TV series are not boxsets! That all depends on whose definition of Box Set is being used. | | | Signature banned: Reason out of date... |

Except TV series are not boxsets! What a shame that the plural of series is series |

| Posted: | | | | So what do we do if we have a series of series to profile? |

| Posted: | | | | That's fine, but Ken has said that no data should be stripped from the parent profile of TV Sets, e.g. audio, video, cast, crew, etc. In other words, do not apply the Boxset Rules to them. | | | Hal |

Problem with DVD Profiler 2.4 was, that is was not possible to contribute a profile without Video. therefore it was not include in the list of items to be excluded. I only see it as on oversight on Ken's part when he amended the Rules; he once agreed with the position to exclude Video and wanted to change the program, accordingly. But for now, technically, we should contribute Video data with the parent and cannot vote No if it is contributed. | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan. | Posted: | | | | It's still not possible to contribute a new profile without at least WS/P&S/FF ticked, unless it has box set contents linked. As far as I remember (2.x is in the distant past for me! ) this is how 2.x was as well. |
