Escape from Sobibor
or
Escape From Sobibor
for the title
which is correct? |

"For English titles do not capitalize joining words such as "of", "the", "a", "in", etc. unless they are the first, last or only word in of the title. "Lord of the Rings" is correctly capitalized. "Lord Of The Rings" is not. "The Matrix"
I believe from would be a "joining' word.

| | Posted: | | | | Actually the Rules need to be slightly modified. "Joining" words (otherwise known as conjunctions) are words like "and", "but", "or" and the like.
"From" is a preposition, not a "joining word", but generally speaking prepositions are not capitalized in Titles. However, there are exceptions for longer prepositions of more than four letters such as "Above". There are always exceptions in the English language. | | | | Hal |

Ones that have me wondering are:
2 Days in the Valley ... cover shows 2 days in the valley
20,000 Leagues Under The Sea ... cover shows 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA
These are only a couple of examples ...
