I did the backup/restore method, including repairing databases beforehand, but when I backed up my 2.4 database, I had 2028 items, and no error messages when it was complete.  Restoring to 3.0 gave me 2024 items and no error messages.  Is there any way to resolve this other than manually opening both programs and checking each item individually?

Did you have an UnconvertedUPC.lst file after the restore?  If so, that's probably where the four went.

I would also check that those four in the 2.4 directory weren't really acceptible.  Run the Repair Utility on 2.4 and see how many you have in a backup afterwards.

As I mentioned, I have already run the repair utility.  In addition, after searching for the file that you suggested, it was a no go.  I appreciate your assistance.

Any other suggestions?

You could very quickly compare the two by doing an export of just UPC and/or Title from 2.4 and from 3.0, then just comparing the two using any program that has a comparison function, e.g. MS Word, TextPad, etc.

Unfortunately, the two programs don't export the same, and I am trying to find some way other than doing so manually.  Any other suggestions?

While it will take you a little longer, you might try importing a portion of the V2.4/5 backup instead of the whole thing and see if the numbers match up. eg: # - B; C - F; G - J; ... If they do, add some more, and so on until you hit a section where additional titles don't match. Then look through the last added to look for the error.

Hope this works for you.
