| | Posted: | | | | I know that an Alternate Entry represents a new "version" of a release where the UPC hasn't changed. Is it still considered correct if the movie is a completely different movie?
There is an entry for the DVD of "Skylines" released on 1/12/21 by Lionsgate. Recently, I picked up the BestBuy 4K exclusive Steelbook for "Belly", released on 1/24/23, with the same UPC: 031398336365. The DVD has a picture of the back cover and the UPC matches what was entered in the database and the UPC pattern matches the pattern on my copy of "Belly".
Should I just create an Alternate Entry for "Belly"? I think it's dangerous for companies to reuse UPCs for different items! |

The earlier release takes precedence, so the "Belly" release would be an alternate Profile for this UPC. |
