If I would have known the trouble I would have stayed with the free version. Wasted $30 IMO. | | | Last edited: by CubbyUps |

| Posted: | | | | What exactly was the reason for the negative vote? Is that that you're using "option 1" style? Because while I, among the majority, don't like that style, it is certainly not invalid under the rules. |

| Posted: | | | | and as I gave him through PM... here is the detailed reply...
In the Episode J.T.'s World... You Have: Elizabeth Berkley as Lisa Credits says: Elizabeth Berkley as Lisa Morgan Completely missing character's last name... Rules say character names are to be as credited as well
In the Episode Christmas Story... You Have: Don Knotts as Deputy Fief Credits Say: Don Knotts as Deputy Feif simply switching the e and i... maybe just a typo but is wrong.
Everything else looks fine to me but as I said... there are character credits not as credited as per Rules... so I had to vote no.
If I see something wrong as per the rules... I will vote no with reason given. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Pete's right, Cubby. It's not a personal attack, he's just pointing out an error. Best thing to do would be to take it onboard and resubmit the corrections. You don't have to start a new thread every time something isn't going your way. |

| Posted: | | | | I know nothing about this contribution but I have to say the 30$ doesn't by the right to contribute, it buys the right to vote and to have more than 50 dvd's in your collection. It's hardly wasted money simply because of declined contribution in my opinion. | | | My 4x4 Club: Club FJ Cruiser Quebec DVDP Français: Forum DVD Profiler Français DVDCOL:DVD Collectors Online Video: LG RU-42PX10 Audio: Sony DreamSystem DAVFX100W |

| Posted: | | | | What is the big deal with making the small revisions and recontributing? What is the obsession with "one shot, take it or leave it"? It's not like you have to go back and do everything again from scratch. | | | Last edited: by Squirrelecto |

| Posted: | | | | I don't know... I even gave him the correct information as you can see above... but basically (from the PMs) He just wanted me to blindly vote yes to his contribution.. and then go behind him and fix the errors he made. and then basically told me that I am to anal retentive and that I need to just vote yes.
Unfortunately it seemed like he just did not feel that he should be held responsible for the contributions he made... that it should just be accepted and then someone else should fix any errors he might have made.
so I had to argue with him 2 days in a row... yesterday because he felt he should be allowed to use IMDB info in the cast and today because I pointed out a couple minor errors to him.
I am sorry if he feels like I was picking on him or if he felt I was too nitpicky... but if you are going to make a contribution you need to be willing to hear out errors and be willing to make any corrections that is needed.
No one should expect that they should just get their contributions accepted and then leave it to someone else to fix any mistakes they made... not when they are notified of the mistakes well ahead of time. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Well, you don't need to worry because I am not going to contribute anymore profiles to your wanna-be perfect database.
If I could get back my $30 I would do so.
I'm lazy huh, it took me hours to do the cast credits for Step By Step as well as 2 discs worth of Flying Nun. I have since withdrawn those contributions. I'll keep my complete cast credits for myself.
You act like the database is perfect and that everything is perfect, well guess what it isn't and never will be. IMDB is not perfect, but neither is dvdprofiler.
I have more important things to worry about then what you think of me or how I do it. |

| Posted: | | | | I had to recontribute a profile this morning because in one particular instance of using an apostrophe in the Overview, I had used ` instead of '. I was grateful to the user for drawing it to my attention. |

| Posted: | | | | My attitude, huh?
You seem to fail to realize that your attitude towards me looks badly upon dvdprofiler.
I hate people that require everything to be 100% perfect, nothing pleases you guys unless it is completely perfect.
Really dvdprofiler isn't that important, all it is an inventory program. Nothing less nothing more. Stop pretending it's something more than that. |

I have more important things to worry about then what you think of me or how I do it. It's definitely not perfect but if nobody ever corrected their mistakes it would not be as good as it is and it would get worse instead of getting better. It took you hours to do it and it would have taken 1 minute to fix, why not do it and participate in making the database better. I haven't seen your contribution but if there was really mistakes I'm sure you corrected them in your database anyway, re-submitting the contribution was only one click away, every one would have been happy, including you. | | | My 4x4 Club: Club FJ Cruiser Quebec DVDP Français: Forum DVD Profiler Français DVDCOL:DVD Collectors Online Video: LG RU-42PX10 Audio: Sony DreamSystem DAVFX100W |
