| Posted: | | | | DVD Profiler does not have a "special" way to deal with Cantonese names, so the "normal" approach applies, which effectively means that we look for the most-used form within the DVD Profiler database, the "common name", rather than anything else. So you can use the Credit Lookup Tool to check on name variants like Gloria Yip and Gloria Yip Wan-Yee to see which variant is the most prominent in the DVD Profiler database. A quick glance shows only one title/one profile for "Gloria Yip Wan-Yee", and a whole bunch of titles for "Gloria Yip". If you think you see a lot of errors in those raw CLT numbers, you can, as you've probably seen here, do a common name-finding thread on her, which attempts to check/verify the accuracy of all these credits, to be absolutely sure. But looking at the raw CLT numbers now, with loads of titles under "Gloria Yip" and only one single title under "Gloria Yip Wan-Yee", it seems quite unlikely that the latter would end up winning out... | | | Last edited: by T!M |
