I know about that section, but after following the link, I see that I received negative feedback for that post. Is that what you are trying to point out? Not at all, I don't give red ones for voicing an opinion. The link provided is a general link: http://www.invelos.com/MyProfiler.aspx?display=repv every user who is loged in gets directed to his personal page where the user can see the status of his/here submitted reputation feedback within the last 7 days: first the date, Type and Status where status tells you if something is OK/not OK with that reputation feedback. Looks like you had more luck then I had, I got 2 red ones for that posting. It was in reply of: Quote: ... that one could not have a negative attitude around here ... showing that the appreciation system is there for amongst others: negative attitudes, ... I don't care to see him driven out of town by those who disagree with him or those who don't want to see the same topics readdressed. The topics here ebb and flow and recycle all the time. Many of us repeat ourselves.
Let Surfeur speak! I never told surfeur51 to shutup Quoting m.cellophane: Quote: I didn't direct the post at any one person in particular. It was to the forum, I am part of that forum. So again I never told surfeur51 to shut up. | | | Sources for one or more of the changes and/or additions were not submitted. I don't believe that negative attitudes warrant negative feedback. I reserve negative feedback for those posts that attack another user personally with actual name calling. That's about it. I use the reversal of my feedback as a guide. I've had 2 reversed. One was a user that said another user had malicious intent toward the database. I thought that crossed the line, but it was reversed. After that, I've stuck to giving negative feedback only when there's personal name calling. Even that caused me to get a reversal once though. A user called another user an idiot but my feedback was reversed after the user edited their post. Quote: Quoting Giga Wizard:

I think i'm using the same standards as you do. Most I used them is on spamming, very effectivly, together with other users. And the name calling a big However tempting it is, I try not to use them when I'm the subject. Most used the green ones, to thank other users when assisting someone or helping me out. | | | Sources for one or more of the changes and/or additions were not submitted. | Posted: | | | | That's a pretty adequate description of how I use them as well: for spamming, and - VERY rarely - for repeated and serious personal attacks on some fellow user. My main problem is rather running out of greenies, like today...
Can't even afford to wait till tomorrow, as I'll be abroad for the next 2 weeks without any Internet connection. | | | Last edited: by dee1959jay |

I sympathize with what you will experience when you log into these forums after a two-week absence. I find it bad enough if I'm only off-line for a couple of days. How long do you think it will take you to get caught up with two-weeks of postings here? Whew! | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole) Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges.
