I will absolutely vote on anything you put up. and if would bother to look ariond that is was Gerri HERSELF hersel who made the comment. Your take it way to personally, but your scans for Ghoist Rider were nearly identical to what is already there, note the Rules say significant improvement and if I could see any marked improvement, it does not exist. You are coming off like a whiner.
Skip While I agree with most of what you said, I do have to disagree on one point. His scans are much better than the existing ones. The text is sharper and the colors are more vibrant. The improvements, at least to me, are quite obvious. In addition, just to emphasize your point, Gerri did make the following statement here. Quoting Gerri Cole: Quote: A bit of advice I can give on scans, is to be specific about what is better about it, especially if the scan is already a high rez scan. Point out specific things that can be seen as improvements. If you say something like "Improved cover scan, notice in the bottom left hand corner you can now read the text..." This will improve your chances of it being seen as a significant change.

Is sarcasm a big no-no now? Guess you won't be seeing me then. I live on sarcasm. And coffee. Marcel: I did not give any red arrows, but yes i will say that sarcasm does seem to verbotten on the forums any more, as is dry humor and many other things. Also some users seem to be exempt and allowed to behave in any form they wish with impunity. Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here

| Posted: | | | | Quoting skribner: Quote: You know, I was just looking at my cover scan contributions, and there was one that had two dissenters. Needless to say, one of them was from our hero.
Improvement, IF any, is insignificant, they look near identical, Gerriu please note user did not describe improvements IF there are any
So now, apparently, Ken and Gerri need to be told what to look for because they might have forgot or might not be doing so with our hero's opinions in mind.
I will say this: A lot of what is in a cover scan is subjective. I offer what I have and if they are appreciated then so be it. If not, then I'll withdraw and no harm, no foul. I have been told by our hero that he is not being crass or personal, just the (almighty) judge. Unless the scan is empirically of a lower quality (smaller, grainy, or a victim of severe compression sickness), then vote your opinion and be done with it. I do not feel a need to justify my cover art submissions because anyone with two eyes can see for themselves and opine as to their druthers.
For my end, I do not think that our hero has any special ownership of this program. This is my program as much as it is his and any of ours. My opinion should weigh as heavily as any of our learned forum contributors and it is that opinion - coupled with my devil may care differing and downright disagreeing with the rules - that may upset the status quo.
I have been in combat. I have saved lives and taken them. I am actively involved in the security of our country and have done so for the past 26 years. Trust me when I say that there are far more important issues out there than me not spelling out my deemed improvements in cover scans for the blind out there who will not open their eyes and see.
I am disgusted by little men who hide out in niches and pretend to be in authority in their tiny insular worlds. If our hero were to disappear today, the program, and these forums, would continue on just fine. In the Army, this is what we call an "indicator." When an operation or event would not be the least bit impacted if you were to disappear, this is an indicator that your perceived importance may be overstated.
For me, I know that my disappearance will not cause the slightest hiccup in the DVD Profiler program or world. I will still contribute my cover scans and the occasional profile update because I enjoy sharing with other people and I appreciate the time that other people spend to keep my database up todate.
A special note to our hero: You are NOT welcome to judge, opine or even vote on my contributions. Keep your venom and crotchety attitude far away from me. When you see my name on a database contribution, don't even look at it. Just find someone else to play with with. I am not interested. I want to enjoy this program again. Let me find the peace I am looking for. Skribner: I wish my friend Berak had not seen your comment about your being in the military. I thank you for your service. I missed because your opening comment made me so angry. But it will not get you any special treatment, I judge what i see nothing more or less, I don't even look to see who it is from, nor do I look to see where the original work came from. So get over your self. Again, thank you for your service to our country, but i will NOT kiss your tookas because of it. Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here

Let me find the peace I am looking for. Skribner: While I salute you for your service to our nation, it does not entitle you to make your "special note" -- at least the part where you say " You are NOT welcome to judge," etc. [Well, actually you ARE entitled to make it, no one else has to pay any attention to it. ] You might not like someone judging, opining or voting on your contributions, but nothing in the rules of conduct for the contribution system gives you the right to tell ANYONE that he/she can't comment on or vote on your contributions. You accuse someone of acting like he owns the database -- and then you make the above statement as if YOU own the database. Who gave you the right to dictate who can or cannot vote on anything you contribute? Serving your country earns you respect and honor, but it does not give you any "special" rights here. We should all be treated the same, regardless of your personal feelings. I shouldn't think it would be necessary to shelter the ego/feelings of a combat veteran. | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole) Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges. Skip I assumed nothing -- it would have been logical, but anyone could have given the red arrow. As far as I know, you've never lied to me. You always seem to cop to your behavior. If my post indicated that I knew it was you, I overreached. I aimed for humor, based on your marvelous inconsistancies. | | | If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

Skip I can vouch for that. The only red arrow I have for a forum post is for stating that I was being sarcastic in a previous post. | | | Guns don't kill people. Hammers do. |

| Posted: | | | | To get the full impact on this, you just have to read what Skipnut is posting about in this thread. As you can see, I swallowed my pride and voted yes to what I thought was a better scan than the existing one. And the result... (I don't think anybody but the contributor can vote like this). Don't get me wrong, I couldn't care less about the negative vote. I just hate Skiplogic. | | | The Other DVD Forum Why do people who know the least know it the loudest? |
