The moderators can't assess intent, they can only do their best to determine whether a post is on topic and whether it stands a chance to perpetuate an ongoing conflict.  In this case they felt it did stand that chance, and took action to stop the conflict.

This is exactly what I mean by excessive moderation.

I asked a simple question, based on a statement made by Skip earleir in this thread that I found to be very interesting and wanted clarification on.....

And the Forum Moderator comes along and removes it........

Why?????????

This is precisely what will drive me away!!!!!!!

And this post is directly ON POINT for the subject of this thread....are you going to remove it also???????     

And to add insult to injury, someone throws a red zinger on this post!

As I said, and I mean no disrespect to the moderators, that was due to lack of experience.  What should have happened, at least in my opinion, is the mod should have answered your question with something along the lines of, "Reputation feedback is anonymous.  While they may suspect, there is no way any user can know who gave them feedback.  Please return to the topic at hand."

This is a new system and mistakes will happen.  As long as we all learn from those mistakes, things should get better.
