I've got "dvd profiler" entered into my iPhone app search screen so when I hear the word, two taps and I'm there.

we'll be on OS 5.0 by the time an iphone app released...

Only if "Apple" does the same as "Sierra" with "Leisure Suit Larry"...

An antique (originally printed ca 1982, IIRC), but... for any Bloom County/Outland/Opus fans left out there:

Part of the "Penguin Dreams and Stranger Things" collection, ISBN 0316107255 (long OOP, but commonly available used very cheap.)

I am sorry but I really want this DVD Profiler i-Phone App.  The suspense of waiting is driving me insane.  Does anyone know if the app was approved by Apple?  I know they have a weird approval process...  I know on the website it says the i-Phone app will be next to roll out but how long is that... I have been checking this message board since March

We go through this everytime Ken says something, it's a cycle that repeats itself and has for years. PATIENCE, it will come out when it comes out.

Unless I've missed something, this hasn't been submitted to Apple yet and is still in development.  I'm as excited as you are, but Skip is right.  Patience is the key here.  It could still be months away.

Some features that would be cool:
- Cover Flow w/ touch screen (like i-Tunes)
- Add & Edit DVD's to your library
- Online & PC Back-Up Syncing
- New Release / Wish List Push Notification
- Maybe a way to view Movie Trailers
- A way to include E-mail
- Include the functions of the i-Phone such as cut & paste / tilt screen for cover flow / maybe even a camera scan~~like the i-Phone app-Snaptell that would be awesome

Just a few ideas... Anyone want to add b/c I know I'm missing alot.

It does seem that I'm the only one who dislikes the I-phone application idea. The company isn't big enough to even develope present versions of the software and they "release" a new product....

I can't even remember how long a go Ken sent a message about DVDP Plus (or what ever the name was for updated web pages). Haven't heard a word about 'em since...

This seems to be the Invelos marketing strategy... announce a "State of developement" few years before actual release, and then go totally silent at least for a year. I wouldn't hold my breath about this one...

My preference would be that we would pay yearly fees about the main program and Invelos should drop out all the "side projects" or employ more people to work with them.

I'm always unhappy to hear about new products when the main program has MAJOR issues...

The problem in your logic Kulju is that the program does not have any Major Issues... it is in fact very stable and feature rich...

Whole db structure should be redesigned so that we could have separate databases for film data (with possibity to exeptions if credits doesn't match) and DVD data. At the moment we have ~80 profiles for The Matrix. If some one for example updates Cast & Crew to 3.5 level, we have still 79 profiles to do. It is bad for users and screeners when all changes must be done several times and we never get rid of imdb data with that design.

Cast & Crew linking should be done better, maybe using unique IDs.

Key fields should be redesigned so that we could have separate profiles movies for DVDs that have more than one film on one side etc... just see Collected Feature Requests thread...

I would just love if Ken would put all his efforts to make base program better (online db for the most). I would be happy to pay yearly fee for that.

Those are FLAWS in the system rather than MAJOR issues. In itself the program runs fine & does what it is supposed to. Could it be better? Yes of course it could but the current set up doesn't break the software.
