A change that can not be fixed, because it will be againts the rules...
I wanted to see if the no votes were for what I thought. I was right. Yeah you were right, users wanted a space between X and III, but I understand you contributed a title you did not wanted yourself. | | | Martin Zuidervliet

As I said, I would prefer to use the spine for titles. | | | Signature banned: Reason out of date... |

| Posted: | | | | In a way, I'm kinda glad he recontributed it as "X III" which brings this flaw back up to the forefront. If it brings a change in what most seem to view as a flaw, then it was worth it.
If not, well, bugger. |

No, you're not. I also do not approve this kind of behaviour. If you think there's a hole or something that needs to be clarified in the rules, it's better to notify this in the forums than to force this into the database just to prove a point. I know it's not "our" database, but I do think we should be taking care of it instead of testing if it's bulletproof. | | | Martin Zuidervliet

That's the best way to help the DB isn't it? | | | Signature banned: Reason out of date... |

I listed a whole bunch earlier in this thread. Quoting hal9g: Quote:
So now we're stuck with the likes of 'Batman', 'Pi', 'Star Wars' (all episodes), 'Simone', 'Batteries Not Included', 'And God Created Woman', 'Alien vs Predator', 'K-19: Widowmaker', 'Men in Black II', 'Mission: Impossible II', 'Mission: Impossible: III', etc, etc.
I would not exactly call this a "rare" occurrence. | | | Hal | | | Last edited: by hal9g |

That's the best way to help the DB isn't it? so you believe that you have enhanced the database by your action? I look forward to your immediately updating every title in your list which could be enhanced in the same way as this one. Obviously I would lock every title which you would submit so I wouldn't get crap titles. Its searching for new ones where I could find problems. But who cares when you are being so helpful to the database. | | | Paul | | | Last edited: by pauls42 |

| Posted: | | | | As helpful as the person that submitted the title update to Star Wars, Star Wars Ep 2, Star Wars Ep 3, Star Wars Ep 4, Star Wars Ep 5, Star Wars Ep 6, Mission Impossible 2, Mission Impossible 3
Should I continue to make you hsppy?
I followe dthe rules, it should not matter WHY I followed the rules. All that matters is that I FOLLOWED THE RULES!
Ken, please lock this thread. | | | Signature banned: Reason out of date... |

But he did it only to point out the lack of "No Smoking" signs in that forest. Message Clarification: The statement above contains sarcasm. The author does *not* encourage the burning down of forests, even if there are no explicit signs to prohibit it. Message Clarification Clarification: The message clarification above is an ironic persiflage on the desire to have rule clarifications for every possible loophole. However, it should not be concluded from the use of irony that the author isn't serious about the fact that burning down forests is a bad thing. | | | Matthias |

A bit of an extreme analogy. Perhaps a small brush fire! | | | Hal |

| Posted: | | | | I have to ask myself, why doesn't Ken or someone else from Invelops quickly step in in instances like this, make a decision, then modify the rules to account for the issue?
Instead no one from Invelos says anything, then the threads go on for pages and pages, people disagree then start attacking and flaming each other, and no real consensus is reached.
I for one would REALLY like to see someone from Invelos start stepping in and making a final decision early on to stop all this pointless debate which mainly only results in frustration and negativity.
Just my opinion. | | | 99.9% of all cat plans consist only of "Step 1." |

Just my opinion. Ken approved the rules. Otherwise, they would not have been posted. | | | Signature banned: Reason out of date... |

Maybe if everyone stop arguing for any little details the database would be better... As someone as said to me last week the database is just a starting point. If the title is corect and the cover is corect, it's not the end of the world to do the rest ourselves for our personnal database. |
