| Posted: | | | | I don't agree with it. Ken has far more important things to do than to deal with this pettiness. The majority has said NO in two totally separate polls, live with it. I will vote No to any SPs I find, and will remove any that have been erroneously entered into the database when I find them. They are not in the list of acceptable roles and that is absolutely DELIBERATE, contrary to the opinion of Tim who thinks he knows ALL. It also does not surprise me that despite two polls which say NO, that Tim would be doing exactly what he wants to do.

| Posted: | | | | Skip, either Ken or the rules commitee have to do some homework. We both agree that an SP should not be credited, so do 43 other users, but 30 don't. So a clearing word might save us all a lot of frustration and No-votes.
According to the current version of the rules it is not possible to enter crew members if the credits are not in English, simply because the foreign language jobs are not to be found in the crew-chart. Almost everybody seems to ignore that, because it doesn't make sense at all, but still it's against the rules.
If nothing else, this thread shows that the crew credits section of the rules needs some work. There are obvious errors to be found (missing Art Director) There are explanations missing for certain points ( when is a composer of a score a composer of a score) And all the crew members in non-english movies, that have their credits in their native language are not to be entered. This inconsistencies open the discussion for credits like the notorious SP, or if "Theme by" justifies a valid entry. This are just some major flaws, with a bit more research there are others to be found. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! | Posted: | | | | Now all my MacGyver episodes have 3 Executive Producers and no Producer credit since we can't enter Supervising Producer as Producer. I guess the episodes produced themselves...novel concept . I find this utterly rediculous. | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

Try this: http://home.snafu.de/ohei/ofd/md_terms_e.html Thanks, but the problem is not that I wouldn't be able to translate the credits (at least not from German to English), the problem is that currently it's a violation of the rules (if you take them strictly) to enter crew credits that are not originally written in English. Simply because the rule is too restrictive on the one hand and on the other hand leaves too much room for interpretation (which technically violates the rules). EDIT: Great link though. It's very much appreciated. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?
