I'll post when I'm done! Thanks for all you work guys. Please let us know if we can help in any way. Have you considered a wiki type set up so that you can share the workload? | | | Stuart | | | Last edited: by Gadgeteer |

| Posted: | | | | On the subject of a Wiki, we did discuss it, but having the database give advantages.
If it really takes off, and there is no Invelos developments for identifying the main name, then I will look at a contribution process direct to the database, with "us" just needing to approve (or reject) them.
We're keeping a close eye on it, including Google Analytics to see the traffic visiting the site. | | | Andy

Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide says 'Howard Hesseman's early credits have sometimes been hard to trace, mainly because he often billed himself as "Don Sturdy."'

| Posted: | | | | I've an idea that I think would help greatly when checking your own database against the common name database we're creating.
What if a profile was created that contained the common names. You could incorporate this profile into your local database and then use goodguy's name variant plug in to compare your other profiles to the 'common name' profile's names.
My initial thoughts are to add the 'common' name and aliases as individual entries so that they are all compared to your own database.
eg
Sacha//Baron Cohen as Correct Sacha//Baron-Cohen as Use Sacha//Baron Cohen Borat as Use Sacha//Baron Cohen Borat Sagdiyev as Use Sacha//Baron Cohen etc
What do you think? | | | Stuart |

| Posted: | | | | Jess Franco: Gigantic list of alternate names at IMDB here: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001238/ But he's most widely known under the name Jess Franco as seen by the titles of his biographies: Jess Franco : El Sexo Del Horror (Bizarre Sinema : Wildest Sexiest Weirdest Sleaziest Films) by Carlos Aguilar, Stefano Piselli, Riccardo Morrocchi, and Jack Taylor (Hardcover - 1999); Obsession. The Films of Jess Franco by Tim Lucas: Blumenstock, Peter: Kessler, Christian Balbo (Hardcover - 1993)
Why IMDB insists on calling him Jesus Franco, i dunno. But there's a way to distinguish DVDP from IMDB. | | | "This movie has warped my fragile little mind." |
