Explain Please? Well, he said it's an untranslatable German proverb But your translation ist correct in one way... As far as I can tell "Iren sind menschlich" is an adaption of "Irren ist menschlich" (To err is human). And "Schotten sind dicht" refers also to the technical term "Schott" (bulkhead - which should be sometimes closed thight ). And the 2nd meaning in German of "dicht sein" is " being drunk/drugged", so it mean's "Scots are drunk" and "bulkhead's are closed" |
