| Posted: | | | | Hope I'm not late to the party I made a special rule for my list only to include movies I've seen in their original language from a DVD I own. That ruled out a lot of stuff that would be on it otherwise. My collection is also severely lacking in the 60s/70s department, especially for European productions. As you can see some childhood memories from the late 80s rank higher than they probably should :D In no order, sorry, it's ridiculous to compare Blade Runner and Bringing Up Baby... 3:10 to Yuma, 2007 The Adventures of Robin Hood, 1938 Back to the Future, 1985 Beverly Hills Cop, 1984 Blade Runner, 1982 Bringing Up Baby, 1938 C'era una volta il West / Once Upon A Time in the West, 1968 Children of Men, 2006 Cidade de Deus, 2002 Elizabethtown, 2005 Ferris Bueller's Day Off, 1986 Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, 1989 Dip huet seung hung / The Killer, 1989 Léon, 1994 The Ninth Gate, 1999 North by Northwest, 1959 The Notebook, 2004 The Philadelphia Story, 1940 The Prestige, 2006 Sin City, 2005 Singin' in the Rain, 1951 Wo hu cang long / Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, 2000 Top Gun, 1986 Who Framed Roger Robbit, 1988 The Wizard of Oz, 1939 Hah, I'm surprised by my own list. I'd never have expected that many 80s/2000s movies and that few 90s (1) and 40s movies. I'm also wondering why no silent made the list. I gotta watch more of those I own | | | - Jan |

| Posted: | | | | Here we are in the home stretch. This Sunday the 18th I will begin to compile our list. There are a good amount of participants. There are some reoccurring films as well. So everyone has an idea what is happening I have created a point system. The movie with the most points will be number one all the way down to number 25. I must say there are a few movies I have never heard of and a few that I am surprised to see. I hope everyone has had as much fun with this as I have. |

| Posted: | | | | I was just thinking, I don't think I even considered Rodger & Hammerstein's The King & I. If there's a pre-YearX list, I'll have to ensure it gets in there... and if we repeat this again next year (making it an annual event would be cool), I'll be sure to give it due consideration.
Meanwhile, I watched Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ (1925) last night, and am wondering if I enjoyed it enough to trump anything on my list (which I won't be changing for now anyway). An excellent film. | | | Adelaide Movie Buffs (info on special screenings, contests, bargains, etc. relevant to Adelaideans... and contests/bargains for other Aussies too!) |
