All right enough of this from you children. Has anyone seen me say much of anything on this topic, I think i made one post. let me offer a suggestion for ROSS. Has it occurred to you that Ken would have to ask me, and I would have to provide an answer. My answer FYI would be NO, I have too much to do already, there is one area I would be willing to assist Ken and gerri but it is not in the role of moderator.

So enough of the personal attacks, already. Despite your claim Ross, it was an attack and totally unnecessary. Let me also go on the record that there are few here, some but not more than a few, that I would be willing to trust with role of moderator and I shall keep them to myself.

Point made.

No, says the man in Moscow. It belongs to everyone.

So much for a 'new place' and a 'new attitude'.  I guess the only slate you wanted wiped clean was your own.

Not at all, and you're totally off on this. Simply stating that there's one person everyone knows should not be considered for a moderator spot.

I assumed he'd want it, because he likes to attempt to control things around here. I was wrong, and therefore, I won't speak about it again.

No, you are stating that there is one person YOU believe shouldn't be considered for a moderator spot.  There was a poll done over at IVS and there are more than a few prople who believe that Skip should be considered for a moderator position.

I do have to thank you for illustrating my point about why moderators should remain anonymous.

Not to mention that Ken specifically asked that people PM him with nominations or un-nominations.

He clearly did not want these kinds of comments posted here.

With all due respect, Ross, you're full of it.  You have no idea what kind of moderator Skip would make, nor anybody else for that matter.  It speaks rather poorly of your judgement if you think you are so much better a judge of character than anybody else here, including Ken and Geri.  Ultimately, the choice is theirs, and you can either wait and see what they decide or you can disrespect their opinions before they've even made a decision.  Your call.

Actually, anyone who participated in the 'Unofficial DVD Profiler Rules Forum' last year got a fairly good sense of what kind of a moderator Skip would be.

True Hal, but (and this is not to imply that Skip would not be a good moderator) I don't believe things ever got to the level of animosity that some threads at IVS or here have gotten.

That being said, given the wide range of posting times I think it would take far more than 3 people to properly moderate when a fire breaks out. I have no interest in being a moderator, but if I were, my full time job would only allow me to "work" here in the evenings when I'm not out of town. Look at some of the locked thread and see the posting time for when things got out of hand. Mods to put out those kind of fires will have to be online when that happens and not just for a few hours once a day.

Maybe

Seeing as how were are a truly worldwide community it would be a good idea to have representation from various parts of the world. Hopefully this would have a moderator accessible as close to 24/7 as you can get.

As they would of you, hal and mine wasn't a very high opinion. Now must you continue insulting me or anyone else with nearly every post you make. Stop it.

Your ceaseless attacks have become boorish and tiresome and TOTALLY unnecessary and counter-productive in every case.
