What I hate, though, is the guys that tool around during 8 player challenges.

Ain't that the truth...

...or the people who decide in the middle of the challenge that they'd rather leave.

I usually watch the proceedings using the map a lot. I have repeatedly hinted at the hosts that there is users like that in the room. Some hosts seem unaware of the map and it can take endless waitingat the gathering point to figure out that some just won't be coming.

The friend I usually play with almost NEVER kicks people.  We were doing a timed challenge on the bikes and you had 9 minutes to get to Wildcats.  I told her this guy was just playing in the quary and after the 9 minutes were up, she just restarted it. And he continued to play in the quary.

I, on the other hand, love kicking people.

I just wish they'd implement a feature where a kicked player can't rejoin the room.  I had some clown do that to me.  I needed 7-8 people.  I sent a message telling him to straighten out, I kicked him 7-8 times.  Finally I had to lock the room, kick him and kill time for about 15 minutes and then re-open it to get enough people for my challenge.

Yes, very frustrating. I don't really like kicking people, but I will if I have to. This one guy said "he probably doesn't know how to kick anyone", so, guess who got kicked

We were doing that one when you meet at I-88 Exit 1/4 Toll Booth and do the lap around I-88. Some moron kept jumping off I-88 and failing it. Really sucked after trying it 5 times. But, it wasn't my game.

When I am doing challenges then that's what I want to do. People who don't care should go into another room where only Freeburning is done. If they don't realize they ae in a wrong place, they will be kicked.

Since, however, there are loads of newbies around these days (I guess mainly due to the availability through the PSN Store) I always check Show PLayers first. If the guy's stats are all 0 (I have seen several of those) they get credit for just not knowing better yet!

I have so far not yet sent messages to whoever was misbehaving... They mess up one challenge, shame on them. They get to mess up two, shame on me

Yes, the one on the I-88 can be tricky. I was in a room the other day where we tried a few times. I accidentally got on the ramp in the tunnel, another guy crashed elsewhere and got apparently thrown off the highway.

Oh, the newest one... everyone at the start point keeps getting taken down as they await the others to show up at the location. Then one dude keeps doing it after it says everyone has arrived.

Or, taking down the host as he is trying to set up the next challenge. This one really annoys me!

Oh boy, yes, those people who think taking others down can be annoying...

I once found a thread at the Criterion about the take down etiquette; just wish more people would follow it. I usually don't respond to that behavior and if they keep doing it a drive a bit away from them and if they still don't stop I leave the room, feeling sorry for the host.

I have seen a player with 4300 take downs and everything else 0 in his stats...

I ran into a player last night with 1.2 MILLION takedowns!

I still don't believe it.  I think he hacked the number somehow.  But he sure did like taking me down.

Is there a way to tell what challenges you need without being in the lobby with the correct amount of players?

I think there might be.  But since I'm at work, I couldn't say for sure.  And are you offline or online, and if online, the host or in someone else's room?

Right now, I am fighting trying to sign into Disney's BD Live network. It says I can use my movie rewards account, but, this shiitake mushroom keeps freezing up.

Disney is so lame!

But, if I were in the game, I would either be offline or hosting.

Yes. Just click the Menu button (the one to the right of the PS button) and select the Challenges section. In there I believe you use the square-button to switch between timed and freeburn challenges. IIRC the Challenges section is not available during a challenge.

I did a lot of challenges last night, had a blast! It was also cool, since I was hosting,  that I got to help some others get their 8 players at wildcat stadium trophy. They politely asked, so, once I cancelled a challenge and did the meet at Wildcat Stadium freeburn.

The second time, we were doing a lot of the challenges at the airfield, then did the Wildcat Stadium for another person. Wouldn't it be nice if everyone was that nice?

I think I just missed you.  I logged in, saw you were playing, started Burnout, did a few things while that was starting up, then when I got in the game you were gone.

I was eating downstairs. I'm back on for a bit if you happen to be around.

Well, it was only 5 minutes, but it was fun.  I might have time this weekend.

I had two firsts last night.  We were trying to help my friend find her last 5 jumps.  There was a group of us just cruising around looking for jumps she might have missed.  About an hour or two in, we heard snoring.  We assumed someone was being funny and commenting on the fact that it was a little boring.  But it turns out the guy totally fell asleep while playing.  We all laughed and took him down for about 10 minutes, but finally got tired of it and just muted him. I think he ended up sleeping for about 2 hours before he woke up and left.

The host didn't boot him because we were just looking for jumps anyway.  And we had some annoying kid keep dropping in wanting trophies, so we just told him if he could wake Cobra up, we'd help.  Then the annoying kid would leave for 20 minutes before coming back to bug us.  So he was actually quite useful even while sleeping.

Anyway, the other cool thing that happened is I got 9.2 million in an online stunt run!  I think my multiplier was up around 72-73.  And that was driving in the dark! Now that I can taste it, I won't be satisfied until break 10 million.
