Should the overview list of episodes exactly match the numbering system on the cast/crew dividers?

The Voyag to the Bottom of the Sea volumes have overviews that are going by the total amount of episodes in the series.

For example the Season 2, Volume 2 of VTTBOTS has the following in the overview.

"Episodes
46) Terror on Dinosaur Island
47) Killers of the Deep
48) Deadly Creature Below
49) The Phantom Strikes
50) The Sky's On Fire
51) Graveyard of Fear
52) The Shape of Doom
53) Dead Men's Doubloons
54) The Death Ship
55) The Monster's Web
56) The Menfish
57) The Mechanical Man
58) The Return of the Phantom"

Is that the correct way or should it be rebumbered starting from 1?

If the seasons are all in one big box, number ALL of them consecutively from 1 to whatever;  If you are buying each season separately, number each season consecutively from 1 to whatever.

I disagree, John, that is not how Fox chose to handle this series, Cubby explained it correctly. I do not support any KINDD of deviation from what is on the material the distributor provided..

Skip, the majority of the users here want a standardized setup as explained by John above. It is the way it should be done in the future.

This is just another reason why I won't be contributing cast and crew for TV sets that do not match the actual numbering on the DVD itself or on the DVD cover.

My local profiles will match the "definitive source" for data: the DVD; or the cover if the DVD does not include episode numbers.

I am not going to change things to match this rule, contribute and then change it back locally.

This "standardization" of data versus "as credited" is just going to drive more and more contributors away.......but on the upside....you're getting a concensus!

I am with you on this, hal. I am not interested in some made up standard that departs in any way from the data on the box and / or disc. Count me out.

Sorry Achim, this is one i feel very strongly about. I have no problem with creating a standard in the absence of one on the disc or the package. However, to make some BOGUS standard that conflicts what is on the disc and/or package....isn't gonna happen. Or if it does it will get absolutely no backing or par=tcipation from me. The FIRST source for data is what is on the disc, then the package, ONLY then can we create a standard for otherwise.

Some people are wise, some people are otherwise.

It would be per set... so both volumes would be episodes 1-15

What if the volumes are contained in a single set?  I case that holds 3 volumes?  Would each volume still start and 1?

In such cases... It is sold as a single boxset.. so it should be numbered sequentially from one vol. to the next.

Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea actually has numbered there episodes in a continious order from episode 1 thru 58........ Its listed that way on the keep cases from season to season

Other series have numbered theres starting at 1. at the begining of each season.

So what are you complaining about?  I said to number the mega set from 1 to whatever, disc by disc.

It's not a megaset, john. Fox won't do that until they release 3.2 at somepoint down the road. This is the way they have choisen to do the individual SETS.

Don't blam e me it's not my fault. I can only report what they did, I refuse to try to explain it.

John, what are you talking about this time, I wasn't complaining about anything, just was saying some start each season at number 1, while Voyage to the bottom of the Sea did not. This is not a mega set.

Open you eyes and read what people say before you 'bark' and look foolish.

Well, excuse the hell out of me for assuming we were still talking about what we started out talking about.  Besides that, I was poking Skip in the ribs, so maybe YOU should read before 'barking' as well, eh?
