Just because he/she didn't use a scraper, it's still IMDB data. Absolutely correct. IMDB data is still IMDB data, no matter how it was entered. |

Absolutely correct. IMDB data is still IMDB data, no matter how it was entered. REALLY. The PROVE it, go through that list LINE BY LINE and PROVE it. Back then we didn't have to document this data, we didn't even have Contribution Notes. There are numerous places this data could have come from. So you want to remove PROVE it...LINE BY LINE. Fair warning I can PROVE that it is not IMDb clone. I look forward to reading the Notes. Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here

Time to lock this thread, it is headed for disaster. The above comment is OFF_Topic, infalmmatory and simply offensive.

I think he has me on block on another forum, so he very well could be talking about me. Alien: Could be...but it remains OFF-TOPIC, inflammatory and offensive, regardless of who he directs it at. If it as directed at you, it is the same whether he directed it at scott, synner or me. Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here

And personally speaking, I find the whole subject to be offensive simply because of the amount of time that was invested. Let me make sure I got this right: so the contribution process is really not about what data we enter, or where we're copying it from, but merely about how much time we spend on it? |

| Posted: | | | | Oh pulease, tim. do i really have to explain that this is unique unto itself. There is no other list so large, I judge it on it's merits, first there ARE nuggets of gold in there all over, second is the time that was spent and third I find the idea thatb it is even being discussed AGAIN to be....ummmm unseemly.

| Posted: | | | | I'm sorry, but I can't buy "lot of hours copying data" and "nuggets of gold" as sources.
You say you know the source, what was it?
I'm curious to know, as I would like to use it as a companion to IMDB.
Thanks in advance. | | | Reviewer, HorrorTalk.com

| Posted: | | | | The 1243 extras are listed in the original program for the film, so the best way to know is to find someone who have it and scan this part of the program... of course it's highly improbable that someone here own it. |

| Posted: | | | | Quoting Prof. Kingsfield: Quote: do i really have to explain that this is unique unto itself. Judging by the interest in this thread: apparently you do, yes. Quote: There is no other list so large Given the staggering number, I'll buy that, yeah. But: why does that matter at all? Quote: I judge it on it's merits I do too. I'm just a bit surprised as the "took a long time, so it's valid data" approach. I'm certainly not against (uncredited) data, quite the contrary, and I certainly wouldn't be the one to try to remove it, but at the same time I can assure you that as of yet, my copy of 'Around the World in 80 Days' has no (uncredited) cast - neither the online copy of the profile, nor my local version. Maybe I'll get around to adding a few familiar faces at some point, but I don't think I'll feel the need to include more than about one or two percent of this huge list. Quote: first there ARE nuggets of gold in there all over One could easily argue that there are "nuggets of gold" in virtually every (uncredited) cast section of each of IMDb's film profiles. Quote: second is the time that was spent So as long as I manage to take a really long time copying any (uncredited) data from IMDb into DVD Profiler, I'm good? Quote: and third I find the idea thatb it is even being discussed AGAIN to be....ummmm unseemly. As you well know, we debate virtually everything a dozen times around here - part of the normal procedure... Again: I'm not against (uncredited) data, I have no reason to believe that the list of (uncredited) cast members listed at IMDb is incorrect (the list on IMDb may very well originate from the original program AESP_pres referred to), and I certainly wouldn't try to remove it. But simply "it took someone a long time, so it can't be touched"...? That strikes me as odd. |
