| Posted: | | | | Quoting Giga Wizard: Quote: neutral voting for profiles: it's only purpose to have those not on your list for voting. Yes, I know that, but my point is, it takes exactly the same amount of time to review a contribution and vote neutral on it as it does to vote yes or no. (Well, a no vote takes a few more seconds to type your reason, but you know what I mean) So, if Skip has voted 7000 times, and voted neutral on 20% of the available contributions, that's 1400 more votes, even though they do not show up on the profile page. | | | Kevin |

| Posted: | | | | yeah, i understand you, but most of us use the neutral voting. I nearly never vote on items that i'm not interested in, so they have to go off the database list or you keep them reviewing. Crew and Cast are followed mostly against the movie credits on dvd. Covers, sometimes: nasty rental stickers, crocked scans, way off color, pixelised squares, ... | | | Sources for one or more of the changes and/or additions were not submitted. Please include the sources for your changes in the contribution notes, especially for cast and crew additions. |

Quote: (Quoting jasja: ) I only wanted to edit the worst ones, but now I'm doing them all. And he only got 2642 profiles in his database. He already got 141 image contributions approved, so there are 2501 to go. 162 at the moment. Including about 20 that have been contributed with an incorrect locality. Interesting btw that this particular user does not vote himself. |

| Posted: | | | | i read the threadtitle and i thought it was me, because i added many covers over the last few days. clerks x, mallrats and so on. i edit all my covers after the scan. improve contrast level. just because black is never black when i scan it. its dark grey. but i had no "no"-votes, so i think its okay what i'm doing edit: oh, its the editing of existing covers. well thats just.... if you dont have a scanner and really contributing something you just shouldnt contribute anything at all... taking credit for someone elses work... | | | Last edited: by Looper2 |

| Posted: | | | | I'm guilty. I know. I'm done editing. I thank you all for your reactions. But you have to admit that you can't get a 100% positive result when you're doing this. If 90% of the covers I did are approved, it hasn't all been for nothing. It's good that some were declined because somewhere somebody (or me) might rescan the covers and we all profit from it. And looking back, some edits I did were not that good and those will eventually be better than the ones we had. But some edits I did were an improvement. As some of you also said. (different people, different taste). And we all have a better "Natural born killers" now. Not thanks to me. But I gave a push in the right direction. I could have scanned it myself but I simply don't have the time to scan every cover I didn't like. I am going to add a couple of scans the following days though. They were really to bad to edit, hèhè.
Remember:... aren't we all 'trying' to have our DVD lists look as good as possible. I'm not trying to make yours look less. Jasja |

I think it takes the same amount of time to edit, as it takes to rescan. From the amount of covers being contributed I don't think he was spending much time on them. Probably just upping the levels to a pre-determined level and leaving it at that. | | | Guns don't kill people. Hammers do. |

Not for me it doesn't, it takes me about a half hour per side, to scan and retouch to satisfy my perfectionality. While it takes me only 5 minutes to change the brightness and contrast of some bad looking existing ones, but that's not what I like to do in most cases. | | | Martin Zuidervliet
