Quote: Yes, if the main production company is correctly documented to be Eon and Eon is correctly documented to be UK based, the CoO is UK. Funding and distribution has no relevance to the country of origin as used by DVD profiler. I just love these "statements of fact"!
Since the CoO field is not even referred to in the Rules, exactly how is it that you know "Funding and distribution has no relevance to country of origin as used by DVD profiler"?
The fact that Gerri has publicly stated that the CoO for LOTR is the U.S would tend to undermine your supposed "fact". You are correct, the CoO is not mentioned in the rules. This should be changed by Invelos. And you are also correct that Gerri has given us the definition of the CoO field as the country "where the production companies are based" (see this post). It is reported in this post that she later corrected the misunderstanding about WingNut being NZ based and not US based. Unfortunately Gerri has done this by PM and not in the forum. While I do not doubt northbloke about this PM, we can't check it ourselves. Thanks. I stand corrected. Although Gerri did send this to northbloke in a PM, I am more than willing to accept this as a statement of Invelos' official position on the matter (not sure how I missed that when originally posted). I would not question it's authenticity for a second. As we both agree, the Rules definitely need to address this, in any case. | | | Hal |
