Plot:
The railroad's bound to run right through the sleepy town of Rock Ridge. Land there will be worth a fortune – but the townfolk already own their own land. How do you drive them out? Send in the roughest, toughest, meanest, leanest gang you've got...and appoint a new sheriff you figure will last about 24 hours.

But that's not really the plot of 'Blazing Saddles', just the pretext. Once Mel Brooks' lunatic film – many call it his best – gets under way, logic is lost in a blizzard of gags, jokes, quips, puns, howlers, growlers and outrageous assaults upon good taste – or any taste at all.

Cleavon Little as the new lawman. Gene Wilder as the wacko Waco Kid, Brooks himself as dimwitted politico and Madeline Kahn in her Marlene Dietrich sendup that earned an Academy Award® nomination† all give this sagebrush saga their lunatic best. And when 'Blazing Saddles' can't contain itself at the finale, it just proves the Old West will never be the same!

My Thoughts:

Of all the Mel Brooks movies, 'Young Frankenstein' and this one 'Blazing Saddles' are the best (possibly adding 'Robin Hood: Men in Tights' and 'Spaceballs').
This movie seemed to break the mold and allowed Mel Brooks to expand his vision in his next movies.
The cast is superb with Cleavon Little, Gene Wilder, Harvey Corman and the wonderful Madeline Kahn.  The jokes range from the very sophisticated "That's Hedlly" to the slapstick of the campfire scene.
Throughout this movie shines.
I would suggest that anyone .. possibly over the age of 13 .. watch this movie and be ready to laugh throughout.

Plot:
After a horrific car accident, Anna (Christina Ricci) wakes up to find the local funeral director Eliot Deacon (Liam Neeson) preparing her body for her funeral. Confused, terrified and feeling still very much alive, Anna doesn't believe she's dead, despite the funeral director's reassurances that she is merely in transition to the afterlife. Eliot convinces her he has the ability to communicate with the dead and is the only one who can help her. Trapped inside the funeral home, with nobody to turn to except Eliot, Anna is forced to face her deepest fears and accept her own death. But Anna's grief-stricken boyfriend Paul (Justin Long) still can't shake the nagging suspicion that Eliot isn't what he appears to be. As the funeral nears, Paul gets closer to unlocking the disturbing truth, but it could be too late; Anna may have already begun to cross over to the other side.

My Thoughts:
After.Life staring Christina Ricci, Justin Long and Liam Neeson. I didn't have any expectations going into this one. It was a suggestion I had gotten and so decided to try it. Man I am so happy that I did. This works on a couple different levels like 'The Sixth Sense' did without being a rip off. You have to watch intently to get the clues .. don't turn away you will miss something. The performances for Christina Ricci and Liam Neeson are very good. Neeson is so creepy that it keeps you from knowing just what is going on. I would recommend this movie to anyone who likes thrillers and are not shy on the subject of death. I give this 3.5of5 stars

I only seen the first one so far. Not a favorite vampire movie... but not bad either.

One of these days I do have to see the rest of the series though.

I have been lucky enough to see all of them and I have to say that i like them very much.
I think you can really see a growth in the actors (characters), the writing and direction/production throughout the series .. which makes it great fun.
I am really looking forward to the final movie "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2" which is supposed to be released in November 2012.

Buffy is great fun too.  There are times that they created these big arcs in the story lines and these never seen to be pulled off (in almost any series).  I think that the first 3 years are my favorite, after that it sometimes got on the bizarre (or more bizarre).

But over all it seemed like all the actors (characters) and writing just got better and better.  And of course that is what one would expect from Josh Whedon .. just imagine how great Firefly might have become.

I don't know if you saw the movie 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' with Kristy Swanson and Donald Sutherland, Paul Reubens, Rutger Hauer but if you did just keep in mind that the tv show isn't the same as the movie.  There is a Buffy and she is a vampire hunter .. other than that Josh Whedon went his own way creating a 'scooby doo' group for Buffy.  I think it stands up well on its own.  Better than the movie.

As for Sarah Michelle Gellar, she was great in a romantic comedy called 'Simply Irrisitable' which co-stars Sean Patrick Flanery.  This is also a very good movie if you get a chance to see it.  Light fare but good.

Oh, i didnt know. Didnt know about the 'Buffy' movie, So havent gotten a chance to see that one. (maby i should?)

And for the Sarah Michelle Gellar romantic comedy. Havent heard about that movie actually! :o And i dont picture me Sarah "Buffy" Gellar as a romantic comedy girl. So i have to get that one too, aswell!
