| Posted: | | | | So... don't know if I was expecting a conclusive answer (I wasn't) and it definitely seems like there's differing opinions... Some say Twentieth Century Fox as that's presented during the opening and closing credits and that the copyright holder isn't the same as the studio (which was my understanding which is why I submitted it that way) and some say nope, Twentieth Century Fox Film it is (leaving out Corporation although it may or may not be an actual part of the company's name?). So I've edited my contribution notes to say I started a topic in the forums (as the rules say to take your questions to the forums). If the contribution is declined, cool. I'll resubmit with the other changes (not a spiteful guy I don't think, I would like the proper info to get in to the system). If it's approved and someone goes to change it back, I'll lock it and vote neutral. I do know this. In my own local: 20th Century Fox - 1 Title Twentieth Century Fox - 291 Titles Twentieth Century Fox Film - 4 Titles Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation - 5 Titles Twentieth Century Pictures - 1 Title Twentieth Century-Fox - 62 Titles Twentieth Century-Fox Film - 2 Titles Twentieth Century-Fox Film Corporation - 4 Titles Seems I'm not the only one with questions I would infer from this, and that that is a ridiculous number of ways to enter essentially the same studio (I realize it went through changes of course) and something to simplify it in the rules would definitely be appreciated. Something that leaves no question as to a way to enter the studio. So thanks everyone for the discussion, appreciate it! | | | The night is calling. And it whispers to me soflty come and play. |

Now a change is submitted to change it to something that it doesn't actually say anywhere on the film and everyone is voting yes... So yeah... I don't know what the happy funtime to do anymore... I'll just keep doing my best and hope everyone agrees or at least isn't a completely unfriendly person (really... the filter changes that word to unfriendly?????) when voting no (much appreciated to the no voter who HAS taken part in this thread and has been very very kind and friendly through-out everything). | | | The night is calling. | Posted: | | | | I think it really depends on who owns the title and is voting. I hate to admit it, but I've gotten the sense over the years, whether right or wrong, that most people just vote yes unless it's something they blatantly know is wrong. |

| Posted: | | | | Here's an example I just encountered just now, in relation to my earlier comment,... in regards to the Alice (2009) Blu-ray (031398120926) which was released in early 2010, a member has submitted an update to include a digital copy (UV). I received my copy shortly after release and it didn't include a DC. Furthermore, UV wasn't even announced until the Fall of 2010 which is after the release of this title; I believe the first UV title wasn't even announced until end of 2011. However, five members have voted yes to the update.
Maybe this is a recent re-release and warrants an alternate title? | | | Last edited: by rdodolak |

The release studio is Twentieth Century-Fox why the different name. They didn't drop the hyphen till the 80s. |

The release studio is Twentieth Century-Fox why the different name. They didn't drop the hyphen till the 80s. Your guess is as good as mine. Up to three no votes now though, so that's something. | | | The night is calling. And it whispers to me soflty come and play. | | | Last edited: by Merrik |

100% agree, without question. Indeed, that has been the trend for quite a few years now. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | I know, really, that it doesn't solve anything in the long run as a lot of questionable stuff has been put through... but after being shoved into what I'm assuming is some secondary queue or whatever to be looked at again because of the no vote, the original contribution in question was approved tonight.
I don't know if that will make the no voter happy (I promise I wasn't changing it to anger anyone, I really do believe with the info on the film that Twentieth Century Fox is the correct info to enter) and there's still obviously some questions surrounding the rules as they stand now, but just wanted to relay that information. | | | The night is calling.
