I believe the best solution for name parsing is a single name field.

With a single name field, I probably just stop using DVDProfiler.

[joking] I suppose that not only a few of us would think that it's worth a try then ...  [/joking]
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Please don't lie. You are not joking, this would really be "champagne" for you. You already, in the past, tried to make me banned with false accusations.

But I do not need to use DVDProfiler to give my opinion here, so the try would be useless

Possibly,
but
1) you overestimate your importance
2) I do not like champagne

EDIT

3) Actually I really like some of your ideas and value your input, what I do not like is your insisting behaviour.

I know there was a list of requests somewhere but I couldn't find it.

This thread perhaps?

Thank you for trying to find the thread I am thinking of. Although this one is helpful, it is not the one I'm thinking of. I was trying to find the one I had posted in because I can't remember the updates I had requested.

4.  More Icons for much used sites in My Links (like we have now for IMDB, Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic)

5. My Links Remember what Category much used links belongs in... so for example it remembers that something like RogerEbert.com belongs in the Reviews category.

Let the user add more samples. This would be my number one wish.

There's also a bug in My Links:
When adding an address starting with https://, DVDP won't recognize this and adds a http:// in front, resulting in a useless address: http://https://www.example.com/

I just wanted to upload a new film contribution not in database. It did not accept my long entries I made, something that my version missmatch with Beta, but I have no Beta installed. Is it not possible to contribute new films anymore with the 3.8 release?

Shouldn't be a problem... no new beta was released yet. And I made 2 new contributions this morning without any problem.

Thanks, it works again. It was just for about half an hour when it told me there is a beta and used version problem, then it did work suddenly again. Think Ken is something doing preparing the beta for (next) Monday :-)

You are correct, excluding the 'next Monday' part. Was testing contributions with 3.9 and briefly had the page set wrong. The boss has me working on Thanksgiving. What a slave driver!

Hi Ken

Wow, an American citizen working on Thanksgiving, my god, you are really a hard worker! Thanks a lot and the "next Monday" part was just a joke, hehe.

Cool... will Marmot have a new linking system ?

No new linking system, but there will be a few requested data changes. Details soon.

Hopefully the removal of all auto-filters.

Or better yet: adding loads more of them!
