Garfield 2-Movie Collection
I would never think "Garfield 2"-Movie Collection.... I would only think Garfield "2-Movie" Collection. | | | Pete |

Garfield 2-Movie Collection
I would never think "Garfield 2"-Movie Collection.... I would only think Garfield "2-Movie" Collection. Agreed, and again the example in the rules, it's Alien Quadrilogy not Alien: Quadrilogy To me at least Quadrilogy is roughly the same as 2-Movie Collection. But I can see the point for using a colon.... just dont' think in this particular situation. | | | HDTV: 52" Toshiba Regza 52XV545U AVR: Onkyo TR-707 Speakers: Paradigm Monitor 7 v6, CC-190 & Atom Monitors Subwoofer: Definitive Technology ProSub 800 BD/DVD: Oppo BDP-93 (Region Free) HD PVR: Motorola DXC3400 500GB w/ 1TB Expander BD/DVD/Game: 250GB PS3 Slim DVD/Game: 250GB XBox 360 Elite Special Edition (Black) Game: Wii Remote: Logitech Harmony One w/ PS3 Adapter WHS: Acer H341 Windows Home Server |

| Posted: | | | | Well the rules specifically state when a colon can or cannot not be added to a title.. So if it does not exist in the title it should not be added unless it is one of those conditions and this case does not show that.
Just because some may find examples in the database where the rules were not followed does not make them correct (for the online database).
This case is clear that if "2-Movie Collection" is to be part of the title there should be no colon added. |

This case is clear that if "2-Movie Collection" is to be part of the title there should be no colon added. The issue is not clear. There are dozens of posts going make almost a decade in which the colon/no colon issue has been divided. When I was researching that topic I found that in most cases the community felt that the rules allowed for the colon inclusion for US profiles. An exception was the recent discussion about Oz. The community is still divided: 22/18. Obviously this issue is not clear. http://invelos.com/Forums.aspx?task=viewtopic&topicID=668194&messageID=2067222#M2067222. Both sides believe that they are following the rules. This issue is no different than the recent Men in Black thread. There are different viewpoints with the community divided on their application. |

| Posted: | | | | The original question had useability consequences, which is why I felt it important. The colon/no-colon question is just a cosmetic issue, in my opinion, and as such isn't worth fighting over. | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar |
