| Posted: | | | | I don't see the difference between 1 movie with multiple w/s ratios in it (Tron, Black Knight) or a multi-movie 1 sided that has a 1:78 & 2:35 on it. You get one option. Should be blank in the database. what people do in their local isn't my concern.
It's incorrect whether I agree or not, if there is no ruling by Ken or a change to the rules.
If one person votes no on a contribution because it has something that is in a grey area that majority has ok'd but is not in the rules explanation or one of Ken's forum decisions it should be pulled. No matter how long it's been a practice.
If everyone wants the majority to rule, take away the confines of the rules and go by majority. I don't care. But this it's ok this week but it may change next week is getting old. | | | Last edited: by ateo357 |

A multi-movie one sided disk has rules defined. Thus is would include an aspect ratio, it would be wrong to leave it blank. "In cases where Widescreen and P&S versions are included, list the Widescreen ratio." |

| Posted: | | | | This does affect plenty of other movies. Off the top of my head: The Simpsons Movie, Where's Marlowe, some releases of Dr. Strangelove, the 2003 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series, The Blair Witch Project and Brother Bear. |

Multi-movie (2 or more different movies on 1-side of a disc) not mutli-version of the same film (2 aspects WS & FF on 1 side of a disc). |

I have these for example in short film collections. |

But my point is: Within the rules it is either stated or it is implied that the aspect ratio is going to be filled in. Everything discusses how to achieve this. True not every case is covered, but that is common with all rules. Nowhere is it stated or implied that the aspect ratio is not filled in. The closest you can get to this is with the rules on boxsets, and even here it still implies the aspect ratio is to be filled in, but only in the child profiles not the parent. Nowhere does anything point to "leave the aspect ratio field blank" |

| Posted: | | | | Rules doesn't say that we must enter aspect ratio, if it's impossible due the program limitation to enter correct value. |

The only incorrect data is having saying the movie has no aspect ratio at all! This is the rule. Use the Ratio drop down list to enter the aspect ratio of the main feature. In cases where Widescreen and P&S versions are included, list the Widescreen ratio. So when you have 2 different widescreen ratios, which ratio do you list and why? What majority wants, what comes on-screen first, what has the longest running time. No matter what the decision is, it is wrong because the database has not updated this area for the new standard in movies (multiple ratios in the same film, multiple films with different ratios on the same side of a disc). |

This is one of those situations in which, as I posted earlier, there is no "correct" answer. There are no rules or clarifications that deal with this and, until the database is updated to include multiple aspect ratios, Invelos needs to step up and let us know how this should be dealt with. |

If there is no correct answer. How can it be right if you answer it. The only correct answer is not to answer. |
